Good price> I have never bought filets except for pre packaged ones that are already bacon wrapped.
Place here in Katy (Midway for the locals on here) sells them for 19.99. Sounds like a good deal to me. They will cut the whole thing to your preference as is normal. And wrap bacon around it if you want. They looked great.

Sam's normally runs 8.99-12.99 for Choice meat. Could be a good price in your area, or it could be prime meat. Make sure you known the grade of meat you are buying.

I think that is normal for a high-end butcher shop cut. That is what I pay.
when I want a superb cut of meat, I don't shop at Sam's wholesale.

HEB has prime grade filets for less than that

not that great of a price.
In Dallas, Sam's Club has some of the best meats...even more so if you consider price.

This. I am heading to Houston on Friday and will stop by on Saturday like I do everytime I am in town. They have incredible deals sometimes and the quality is very good in my opinion.

Prime n BR is runnin about $25-29/lb at Calandros
$19/lb is about what Tramontes charges for choice
Check the grade, will tell u all u know. If its prime, thats a good deal. If its choice, go to Sams and buy a whole tenderloin and trim yourself. Nothing to it.

Does Winn-Dixie still sell their ground beef at .99c a pound?

Why? You can buy the whole tenderloin at Sam's and cut your own. Also, I would like to see what difference there is between a Prime and Choice Beef Tenderloin.

Thats because they restaurant trim their filets. No fat, silverskin etc...
