Jim Hawthorne radio call of Tyranns Sack, Fumble Rocevery and Touchdown

I heard the call on the postgame show, while sitting in traffic. I was eager to hear how Jim called the play and it was better than I thought. It brought a smile to my face knowing we have that kid for another year at least.

Didn't call the name as the play was happening, then after the score he simply said, "Guess who?" in a facetious tone. Doug Moreau said, "I don't think anybody needs a hint." Or something close to that.

I heard it on the postgame radio wrap-up also, and thought I'd have been pissed if I had been depending on Hawthorne's description as it happened.

It would have been an ok call if he was doing play-by-play for a television broadcast. But for a radio description, it was terrible.

I just liked his enthusiasm on the call. One of the main reasons I have always liked Jims calls. I believe he said something like "do we even need to tell you his name?"

Yea, it was. He didn't even say that a TD was scored on the play. He just said something to the effect of QB hit, ball loose, picked up by LSU...do we even need to say who it is?

I agree, Redfish...unfortunately, it looks as if he'll be calling games at LSU for as long as he wants to. I wish he would retire.

Jim Hawthorne has the best job in the world. Even better than Mila Kunis's gynocologist.

Some people will bitch about anything and everything. I had no problem with his call on the play.
