Best Taco in Baton Rouge? .... From Roundup thread

My family and I eat mex often... And I know Baton Rouge is lacking in many aspects.....
But since the taco truck is so bad, where all can a man go in BR to get good tacos?
Note: La Tiendita on Siegen is my fav mex in town.

i like the tongue tacos from taco and burrito express on florida and sharp. corn tortilla, cilantro, raw onions, lime and tongue, add a little green salsa, awesome.

I eat there often. Very often.
All the tacos we had last night from the rpundup were every bit te same size tortilla...with more inside.
Im confused by the "small" tacos and "it sucks" comments. Those folks gotta let me know where i can get tacos n BR.
Taco de Paco may "suck" compared to San Antonio, McAllen, or Houston....but this is BR.

Drive 3 hours to Funroe and eat at Don Tomas. I'll throw in some Apple Pie to boot.

For just a regular crunchy taco I really like Fernados on Coursey. Dont like much else there though.
FWIW I dont think Taco de Paco's tacos suck its just a complete ripoff for what they give you. Throw an extra mini taco in their combo and at least try to have some semblance of a fresh chip and I would buy again from them.

regarding taco de paco - maybe they have changed since I went. It has been awhile. But I found them small and bland with very little filling for $2.50/each. I was very disappointed.

Dont you get a 3 taco dinner from La Tiendita enda for 7.95? Comes with free chips?

la tiendita is real mexican. i don't like real mexican. tex mex is the way to do.
la tiendita sucks even for comparison to mexican.
as sad as it is, chipotle (well, maybe not so sad because it is the best chain food i've ever had) is said to be opening up in the first quarter of the coming year in BR. they will take over as the best mex/tex mex food in br. food wise, this town sucks.
