Has anyone been here and what should I expect? I've never been but plan on going tonight. Just wondering what everyones views were on this place. I know Mike is a huge LSU fan. I don't see that they have a website.

tonight? Are they even open at night? I used to go ALL the time when I was a kid. My dad's office was right down the street.
And it's just a sandwich shop. There are much better poboys to be had.

I thought it was just open for lunch, too. The muffaletta is legit, but the poboys are average and overpriced.

It's a good place to grab a poboy if you are in downtown NOLA and it has a lot of LSU stuff on the walls. That's about it.
I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.

i haven't been since before the storm. used to hit it up during my college years when we came down to Nola to party. i remember the sandwiches being better than the poboys.

This pretty much sums up the place.

I also always liked Mike's "office" which is plopped down in the back left corner of the dining room.
You gonna be there Friday, Les?

i havent been in a few years. I used to go a lot when i worked in the FQ pre katrina. Was always packed the Friday before a game, everyone talking about the game. Id go in, read the sports, watch the 12pm news and listen to everyone talk on my lunch break.
and i never found it overpriced, but that was back then. maybe things have changed.

If you like paying $14 for a loaf of french bread go ahead. They don't skimp on the muff, but their po boys are a joke. Last time I went, I got exactly four small oysters on a po boy and four onion rings as a side. Will never go back.
If you are in the CBD for lunch, and want a po-boy go to Commerce.

it's ok at best. Their muffaletta is ok. I think they are only open for lunch. If anything, you can say ya went to the place that beat bobby flay on throwdown. But like other people are saying, there are better places.
