Any new top players looking to come to LSU now that they are going to the big game again?

Well we already have like 22 commits. We have a couple of big names on the boards, but we're pretty much locked up for the year. But to answer your question, yes it helps.

At LSU, anyway, that is how it has worked - it's not the year you win it, but the following full year of recruiting that you get the fruits of the labor - blue chips from the West Coast or Florida are just starting to really pick up interest by national programs. So when they see the BCS-CG, and Coach Miles starts calling them a few weeks later, we end up on more short lists.
It's still a numbers game, but this is how the game is leveraged. It may make the difference for somebody like Gunner Kiel, especially as he has to make a quick decision. Ditto for Landon Collins with whom we are battling Bama (assuming Bama isn't selected for the game).

recruiting payout is a year down the line. Here's something you can sell to a recruit: The odds are extremely good that if the recruit stays four years, they will be on at least one national championship team.
