California, Illinois, New York, and the New England states all cast the first stone with their blatantly unfair redistricting. Texas was just a response to that.

FYI, your timeline is backwards. You may want to fix it.

I think Trump just wanted to go in, prove a point, and leave. He doesn't have the balls to follow through.

That is Iran's advantage in the shooting war. They know, as you and I know, that Trump does not want an extended shooting war. America doesn't want an extended shooting war. No one wants to have to invade Iran. The threat of expanded hot war is meaningless because we won't do it.
When minimum wage went from $2.90 to $3.10, I thought I was suddenly rich. Made enough cutting grass at the Club to buy my own bicycle.

"Trump buying time for new surprise attack"...... There aren't any surprises coming. Iran is at war and is as prepared as they're going to be. They're preparred for new attacks and will not be surprised.

You are correct. This one is not fooling anyone.

What I find most interesting about the way this conflict has evolved is that the US and Iran appear to be pivoting back and forth between entirely different wars.

The conflict started with the US and Israel bombing targets in Iran and making threats to expand the shooting war to "total annihilation." Iran called that bluff. They double dog dared the US to go ahead and invade or try to win a shooting war. They don't believe Trump's threats of expanded shooting war (none of us do) and started calling themselves the victors of the shooting war.

But in looking for a "hostage" to gain leverage, Iran pivoted the conflict to control of the vital Hormuz shipping lane. The US accepted the invitation to pivot the conflict to a battle for control of the waterway. You don't have to invade a country to impose a blockade. Seeing the potential value of the pivot, the US does not appear to have much interest in going back to the shooting war.

It appears that the pivot of the conflict to the waterway has given Washington a better foothold in the conflict. The same tactic that allowed Iran to harm global shipping can be turned on Iran. It is a fascinating turn of events.

By walking out of peace talks, Iran wants to goad the US into pivoting back to the shooting war, where Iran has the advantage. All the Islamic stat has to do is survive. So far, Washington has declined the new invitation to pivot back to bombing and potential invasion.

It isn't clear how this is going to ultimately shake out, but the pivot to control of the waterway appears to have moved the conflict to a stronger US position.

Under Zelensky, Ukraine is not a reliable ally, IMO.

I don't know about that. Ukraine has a tremendous incentive to be a really good ally to the US, Europe, and anyone putting pressure on Iran.

Yup, they are a terrorist state doing what they've always done. Shouldn't be a surprise.

That is also objectively true.

However, I was commenting on the contradictory messages coming out of Washington regarding the latest proposed talks. The existence of contradictory messages is certainly true.
quote:

Iran says it has no plans to send a delegation to Islamabad, blaming "contradictory messages" and "unacceptable actions" by the U.S.

Don't know what they mean by "unacceptable actions," but we all understand the allegation of "contradictory messages." Some things are objectively true.

It's also like we had this exact same thing posted yesterday.

What's funny (and very sad) about this thread is how many of you are seemingly willing to take sides with a terroristic, theocratic, authoritarian regime over your own POTUS.

Weak. We are talking about Trump’s own statements. Keep n the topic.

The Constitution’s citizenship clause applies to everyone, and is not “for illegal aliens.”

It appears that this train no longer has any significant number of passengers.

Right wingers can only recycle the same BS for so long before even their target audience ignores them. It is starting to happen.
The right wingers have won! There is prayer in school.
I didn't think the United Church of Christ (UCC) had "bishops."

She was born in the US, but her father was a foreign diplomat at the time. Children of diplomats were always excluded from birth right citizenship. Courts already rules that she was ineligible for citizenship and SCOTUS declined to hear her appeal.

She gets to continue being stuck in her middle east shite hole prison camp.

Yup. The only relief she can get is when she is released wherever she is. She won't be allowed back in.
On the positive side, they can only go up from here.

Why did Trump have boxes containing top secret documents at Maralago?
Second in the nation is absolutely solid. Congratulation are due to the team and coaches.
