Friend that lives in Nola recommended this place for lunch and decided to give it a try. Line was out the door but they were moving pretty quickly. The guy in front of me got a shrimp poboy add Swiss and gravy. Thought I would give it a try. Pretty damn good. A little pricey, small poboy and a beer was 14 bucks but I'd definitely go back. Oh yeah, fresh leidenheimer bread.

Very true. Domilise's isn't in my top 25 poboy shops in New Orleans. Their roast beef is almost as bad as Danny & Clyde's roast beef. In fact, I think Danny & Clyde's is very similar in quality (but half the price) in most of the poboys offered.

To be fair, I don't think most people go there for their roast beef poboy.
ETA: Maybe it's just having grown up on them but I honestly think they make a consistantly good shrimp poboy that's up there.
I'm not saying people can't disagree and think others are better but I think saying that they're not in the top 25 is laughable.

Yea I have to agree with others overrated and overpriced. I was surprised to see them win on that TV show over Parkway. The place is truly a hole in the wall, do not visit the bathrooms. Prices are expensive and they don't even sell french fries, but they have fried shrimp poboy. Then you gotta get your soft drinks and chips at the bar and pay separately then your poboys. To each their own though.

I've only eaten at 11 on that list, I need to get cracking. My problem is once I find a place I like I keep going back over and over. Sammy's was good and I have eaten there four times since you recommended it. But I prefer chipped roast beef, if parkway used the gravy Sammy's used they would be unstoppable.
And Tulane, I want to see you Uptown list. I find I eat the most uptown.
