Gus Malzahn = Rickey Bustle

Rickey Bustle turned being the offensive coordinator for Mike Vick into a head coaching job.
Gus Malzahn turned being the offensive coordinator for Cam Newton into a head coaching job.
Good luck with 5 years of 6-6, stAte fans (if you're not up in your free deer stand).

The most ignorant, stupid and clueless comparison that's ever been stated. Please delete your name and never post again. Gus Malzahn is a great coach with a proven track record. Bustle's track record prior to his taking of the ULL job doesn't even compare.

You should stop posting. You know nothing.

His great accomplishments are being assistant coach of the year because of Cam Newton and watching Darren McFadden and Felix Jones win games against his judgement.

this doesn't really go into detail of Gus' success before Cam Newton.

Todd Dodge was the best high school coach in the nation, that didn't translate. Did you mean his success at Tulsa? I'll give you that, he did well there.
Arkansas? Darren McFadden.
I'm not seeing this super, awesome resume that everyone seems to reference.
Rickey Bustle as the OC at South Carolina - team averaged 36 ppg.
He was the OC at Va Tech for a while as well and those teams put up 30+ ppg for a few years before Michael Vick even got there.

He started, helped build, won championships for what is arguably known as the top high school football program in the state of Arkansas. He also won another championship in the highest classification in Arkansas.
His 2 years as OC at Tulsa they had the #2 & #1 offense in America. His first year at Auburn his offense finished in the Top 20 in College football and they won 3 more games than the year before. You're right none of those things are any "great accomplishments"

Really? You're right he only invented the Wild Cat and won 8 straight games and the SEC West with a True Freshman QB. You're right he does suck.

Rickey Bustle's offenses at South Carolina and Va Tech put up over 30 ppg each year.

Invented the wild cat? Are you out of your fricking mind, it's just a variation of an offense that's been run for 100 years.

Aren't you a coach? Are you a better coach than Bustle? Why would you get on a message board and talk trash about someone in your profession. I'm no Bustle fan, but you must be great at coaching. Have you ever been a D1 head coach?

You would have a point if he didnt have a great offense at tulsa and pretty good offense in his first year at auburn

Rickey Bustle's offenses put up a bunch of points per game in South Carolina and Va Tech. His profile was raised after Michael Vick but he was successful before then.

Who is Rickey Bustle?

The picture of Todd Dodge is stupid. Todd Dodge went from high school straight to a D1 head coaching job and failed miserably. Malzahn has been one of the elite OC's in all of college football for the last 6 years on top of his gaudy high school resume.
Yes it's a variation of the old single wing. But he is the one that came up with the idea and the plays at Arkansas. Men in the coaching profession know this to be true.

Kunka in no way trashed bustle. He stated facts. If you can't handle other coaches being criticized or compared to each other on a message board, then GTFO.

Pretty sure there were teams who ran a version of the wildcat long before Malzahn was out of high school. Kansas State?
He isn't some evil genius either. The wildcat hasn't revolutionized the way we think and the way our lives happen.
