TJ has really made a mess here. It's going to take the new coach a couple of seasons to play competitive ball again

Unless we hire Scott Drew and all his recruits come with.

Sweet 16 team next year.

That requires the athletic department not to be stupid, though.

TJ was the best coach we have had in a long while.

Sadly, he was a shitty recruiter.

No. Just no. Hes shown nothing that proves hes a better coach than Brady or brown. He's clearly illustrated he's worse than both.

For the op, it's in much worse shape. We've got a team of bums save job and hickey (and that's a big if, considering he's likely out as well)

He got the most out of his talent.

I just think you guys overestimate how much talent he has. . .

Johnson was the best strategical in-game coach we've had in the last 35 years.

And he was still a shitty in-game coach.

That really just shows how bad of coaches Dale Brown and John Brady were.

ETA: I'd take Brady over Johnson all day every day. Make no mistake. I think he's just as good of a coach in-game, and he was a good motivator who focused on defense. And he actually ran out of bounds plays.

How did he get the most out of his talent. He completely misused it. Timeouts were a joke, we routinely got blown out by 20-30 points during his tenure, wouldnt double team the post, his team quit on him on several accounts...

This is a great day in LSU history.

So why did Malcolm White regress from where he was at Ole Miss? And Ralston Turner regress this year from where he was last year?

There is no APR issues to worry about. As for talent generally i'd say we are in worse shape. There is no talented and experienced players on the starting lineup.

The program was in very bad shape when Brady left.

TJ inherited a quality team. But, there was NOTHING behind it and all of it was gone after the first year.

The program is a little bit better than that right now. In fact, the transition itself will be the biggest problem. If a coach were able to come in and land a quality recruiting class right away (very tough to expect) this program could be good almost immediately due to the young talent it already has.

What do the anti-Brady dong-bags have to say for themselves now? Brady went to the Final Four, and the guy who replaced him took the program to the cellar as fast as he could.

Great job, bozos!

"it's in much worse shape."

You can't be serious that it is "much" worse shape. LSU missed the tournament the year after a Final 4 with a majority of starters back, then the next season proceeded to start 9-13 with a team that included 2 legit NBA players and 2 that have been around the league before Brady was fired.

Brady certainly brought in more talent, but despite that this program is certainly not "much" worse that when TJ got. I would call it a wash.

You have 2.5 quality players(Turner counts as half cause he only tries half the time) and Morgan is an unknown. Considering JOB has been wanting to go pro early even before the transfer rumors started that's hardly a solid foundation left by Trent.

Why are posters still hellbent on trying to prove to everyone that Brady was so wonderful? He's gone and has been. And I've yet to see this miraculous coach at Ark. St. that so many of our fans keep talking about. I'm happy Brady took us to the Final Four. That was a fun year. I'm also happy he's gone. And I'm happy that we came to a mutual understanding with TJ, because with Hamilton gone, next year was looking like the NIT again.

I'm glad he's gone?

Brady finished LAST IN THE WEST FIVE TIMES in 11 years, and the guy who replaced him went to the postseason twice in four years.

That door swings both ways, jackass.

Either way, there has been no progress in the basketball program since Shaquille O'Neal left.

TWENTY.

YEARS.

AGO.

Yeah, Dale Brown was bad. The Rant never lets me down when it comes to dumb statements.
