With the goal being a national seed for LSU, will you cheering for Florida or Kentucky this weekend? And will you be hoping for a sweep or 2-1?

Kentucky... That way we know we lost a series to the real deal

I thought we should cheer for Kentucky to sweep UF.

Florida to win 2-1, that way our wins against them look better and we can start to get ahead of Kentucky for the overall SEC lead.

We need Kentucky to get 2 of 3. More losses for Florida better chance for LSU to get a national seed.

SEC title doesn't matter, national seed does.
UK sweep would be great

The SEC overall lead is not more important than getting the Top 8 seed IMO.
Kentucky beating UF 2/3 would give UF a 13-11 SEC record. That would help them get out of the Top 8. UF winning 2/3 would only clutter the Top 4 of the SEC even more.

you win the sec, you're not getting snubbed of a national seed.

Winning the SEC is a much more difficult task than getting a Top 8.

I guarantee you we would be projected to get a Top 8 seed right now if the SEC wasn't so too heavy this year. The fact is that there are just too many good teams in our conference and there are good reasons to take any of the four.

If Florida wins the series, they come close to locking up a national seed if they don't lose their final two series.

If Florida loses this series as well, it will be their FOURTH SEC series loss out of 8. That should bump them out of the discussion. This weekend is huge for them.

If you win it outright, yes. In 2009, Ole Miss tied LSU for the title with a 20-10 record and didn't get a top 8 seed. There was another year, I think 2004, when Arkasnas and Georgia both finished in 1st place and one of them didn't get a top 8 seed. In both cases, a team that finished behind them in the standings did get one.

I don't care who wins the series, as long as it's not a sweep either way.

The goal is to go 20-10 in the SEC. That means we have to go 6-3 to close out. I think that record is attainable, but will be really difficult to do IMO. Also, I think 20-10 in the SEC will lead to a co-championship, as you said earlier Cub.

A sweep for Kentucky might be best case scenario.

Yes I think 20-10 wins the league this year. The only team I could really see doing better than that is Kentucky because they get Alabama at home.
