Why is the entire SEC playing tonight except for Arkansas and Texas as opposed to the normal 5 and 3 Tuesday/Wednesday night format? I get trying to have everyone on equal rest for the SEC tournament but having only 14 of the 16 play tonight makes no sense to me.

SEC women’s tournament starts tomorrow and those games are on the SEC Network.
We've played about the same number of games as the rest of the top 25 teams. Most SEC coaches avoid having to have weeks with 2 midweek games in them once conference play starts. So they do it early in the season.

So what? In the first couple of years Saban was at Bama, he was doing the same shite. He was telling recruits that Les was only winning with his players. Coaches have egos... ALL OF THEM.

Saban was actively coaching and recruiting against LSU at the time. He wasn't retired from the sport and trying to take credit for the success of players recruited under him. And let's be honest if anyone deserved credit for getting those players to LSU it was Nolan Cain.

You pick your poison if we make it to the Elite Eight. Who would prefer in a regional final: Texas, SC or UCLA? I'm not convinced that UConn is more "unbeatable" that the other teams.

If I had to choose any of those 4 I'd say Texas. I think SC is beatable too but we seem to have a mental block against them come crunch time.
They try to avoid placing conference teams as the top 2 seeds if at all possible.
Us and Vanderbilt can only be placed in UConn or UCLA’s bracket. And I guess they don’t want to put the top 1 seed and top 2 seed together. So we get stuck there by default.

Jay was happy to see Woody shown the door.

Very good summary of what he’s talking about.

I think LSU has a great HC in JJ... but if he thinks LSU is going to go all in on baseball over say, football... well that's just crazy talk.

He never once said or suggested that.

I’m speculating. Based on his comments, I think Jay just wants the athletic department to be as committed to baseball as he is.

Read the whole interview and that’s what I can take away.

Correct. He was not happy at all with Woodward when they announced the revenue share (which he found out about while were in Omaha).

Revenue sharing is capped and LSU is using the suggested guidelines for sport distribution.

And other SEC schools are not and are giving more than we are to baseball.

That was awesome to see. Also saw on X a pic from when Izzy was a kid, maybe 10, and mulkey was sitting in the chair behind her in their living room watching TV. Are they related?

Mulkey said she's know the family for years. Izzy used to go to her basketball camps at Baylor as a kid.

He should just can Mainieri after this season and go back for a few years for a farewell tour coaching the baseball team. USCe fans wouldnt even care about the results, just happy to have him back for a little bit

Tanner isn't the AD anymore.

Not competitive in NIL

I was told actually they are spending a decent amount of NIL on baseball this year.

He really left a sour taste in my mouth after 2023 when he went around basically telling anyone who would listen that he recruited most of the players on the NC team.
