It was at my buddies dealership which burned. I've finally talked to the insurance company and they are going to treat me right and give me a pretty decent amount. I'm thinking about buying a Ranger instead of a 4 wheeler. The 4 wheeler I had was the sportsman 550. I'm looking at the ranger 500 efi.

What do you think?

Great to hear, that was the shop's insurance that is covering the loss?

Four wheelers, Honda only....
Side by side I wouldn't the Ranger 500 or the 800. I want one to take to Colorado elk hunting. They work great up there.

you will love the Ranger the 500 Polaris is 1 of the most dependable motors ever made.

I have had to rebuild less of them then any other motor.

It was the shop's insurance. As to the Honda over a Polaris, One of my oldest and closest friends owns the shop. That's why I'm buying a Polaris, that and I really liked the bike. It was very good to me with no problems even though it was only 1.5 yrs old.

Let me know how ya like that Ranger when ya get it. I'm hung up between another Rhino and the Ranger. I liked the 2 rhinos I've owned, but the whole two seats thing has been outgrown. Hard to fit my me, my daughter, and the lil woman in a two seater. Plus one of the guys I duck hunt with put his Ranger through some more abuse last year and not a single hiccup. I'm really slobbering over that new 900 XP

I can vouch for the ranger. My uncle has had one for 4-5 years. My younger cousin and I have a history of finding a bikes breaking point, and all the years we rode it hard not a single hiccup. We've put that thing through hell and back and it still runs like a top. I'm in the market for a RZR 900, but cant pull the trigger just yet.

I just don't understand as to why people buy those side by side POS. Why not just buy a good jeep? Hell,as much as those POS people are buying, one could buy a used jeep in very good shape at same price and would be able to use it on the road too!

That's sorta where I stand on it too. They are just as useless as a jeep at our camp. To each his own though.

I Jeep will cost a lot more in the long run in maintenance and fuel cost. we abuse polaris Rangers and have never had a problem as long as you keep the fluids changed. and use 0W 40 mobile 1 motor oil or Polaris oil

You wanna call a SxS a piece of shite by comparing it to a jeep? Most jeep owners I know spend more time working on them than enjoying them. I see what you're getting at but can you haul anything in a jeep? Hard to fit all your hunting gear and coolers and all in a jeep. I'd much rather drive my truck and trailer my SxS.
