Arkansas is really missing the boat if they hire Petersen over Art Briles

I don't want to bash CP, he might end up being very good, but there are some major question marks with him in an Arkansas type job. #1 he took over Boise when they were already good, he hasn't had to build up a program, #2 he has never had any type of experience in the SEC or the southern region whatsoever. #3 While he has racked up the wins, he will be making a massive leap in competition from the WAC/MWC to the SEC. #4 has little to no recruiting accumen.
Art Briles has built a program much worse than Arkansas up and made them very respectable in a major conference where the competition is far better than where Boise has been. Also he has deep Texas roots and would be able to make some inroads there for the Hogs. Did I mention he's winning at BAYLOR???

Petersen was one of the main reasons for Hawkins success at Boise St.
Lets face no matter who we hired you and Crow Pie was going to claim that the coach is overrated.
Hell Crow Pie made a preemptive strike on Patterson just in case it was him.

What exactly are you basing this trust on? This is the same guy that almost hired Jim Grobe before Bobby Petrino contacted him then hired John Lol Smith.

Not true at all. I have been pimping Briles for the Arky job for months. Dude is legit.
The thing that boggles the mind is that Arky fans seem to not want him. Makes no sense at all.

And again I'm not bashing CP at all. I don't think he would necessarily be a bad hire, just that he brings a lot more question marks than Briles would. A lot more.

Out of 10 seasons as a head coach he has managed to win more than 7 games only 3 times.
One of which was with a freak Heisman QB carrying the team.
His team is heavily lopsided in which the offense is always good but the defense is always bad.
Petersen tends to have a more balanced team which should lead to better results in the SEC.

Petersen is also 8 years younger and I think will be the better recruiter.
Also, I think Petersen is a bigger name which should help improve the perception that Arkansas' program is becoming a stronger program.

Right. I didn't see LSU going after Briles when they finally got far enough down the list to Miles. And don't try and fricking tell us Miles was LSU's top choice either. Briles’ offense is really good but apparently he cares less about defense than Petrino does. Baylor gave up an average of 41 points per game in the Big 12.

Recruiting, yes. Developing...not really. How much credit did Chizik get for developing Cam? An Olympic class sprinter is an Olympic class sprinter...take that away and he is a good, but not great QB.

Well he pretty much was the top choice all along. Awfully different situation back in 2005 though re: Briles. But yes Miles was one of the top choices from very early on and that was the right call. We hired him over Petrino actually. Great, great decision for LSU.

He's winning game at Baylor. This is as impressive a feat as I have seen in college football. How this keeps getting ignored by some people is mind blowing. Do you just not remember how god awful Baylor was for years and years?
