I know the schedule inequity is annoying

But let's just chill and wait to see what the permanent result of realignment is. We got the short end of the stick this year compared to Alabama. We're getting it next year. It sucks, but it hasn't cost us a title shot yet - we cost ourselves a title shot this year by losing to Alabama, and nothing's happened next year yet. I personally think with the team we're returning that an undefeated season isn't out of the question, even given the tough schedule; we'll certainly have a fair chance, at least, to beat anybody on the schedule.
Let's just face facts. The schedule didn't give up a game-deciding touchdown in the final 2 minutes against Alabama. The schedule didn't lose to Florida by 8. The schedule didn't have close calls throughout the season. The team did. They had a solid year, but they didn't get hosed by a schedule, they just got outplayed, however slightly, in a couple of tough games.
So, let's stop worrying about the schedule, enjoy the good season and what should be a fun bowl game, have fun with next year and see what happens when the permanent fixes are done to the schedule. Then we can complain. For now, it's not costed us a title shot yet.

Well it isn't happening for 2013, and unless something happens in the next month...won't for 2014 either.
So we'll play 3 seasons with Alabama having a softer schedule.

And of those three, to date, it's cost us... zero title appearances! Crazy!
If it costs us a title appearance next season (say we lose to UF and UGA, beat Bama for their only loss), then that is different.
But the fanbase is up in arms about something that hasn't actually happened yet. And until it costs you something, a tougher schedule is GOOD. More exciting games for the fans, more fun for the team when they win, and a stronger resume when it comes time to do BCS jockeying.
We're mad about something that hasn't even happened, may not happen, and until it happens, is a good thing!

I don't disagree with you, but it is also time to have an open discussion about said inequity instead of letting it fall to the wayside.

Bama doesn't make it through our schedule with one loss.

If this were 2004, I'd agree. But considering the two weakest schedules were facing off 2 days ago to play in Miami, I disagree.

I would like to feel confident that LSU will get fairer treatment down the road, but when I realize that both the Director of Scheduling for the SEC and the Head of the SEC Officials are Alabama grads, then reality sets in.
This league is under the undue influence of one school, and it ain't us.
And to think, I used to feel sorry for the Big 12 schools, having to deal with Texas. Suddenly, being in a league with Texas doesn't seem so bad.

The problem is you are more likely to have injuries vs top teams in the SEC. So you play the likes of Ga vs Kent. Ga is more likely to beat a team up than Kentucky. This happened to us and SC this year.

you can bet when they "re do" the schedule AGAIN in 2014 Bama will get Vandy and Tenn and then the rotation in '16 will be Miazzou then in '18 it will be Kentucky. If Bama had to play the same schedule as LSU each fall, it is not likely they would have been in 3 BCS title games in 4 years - probably just one

It is more than just annoying. I know there is nothing that can be done about it, but the SEC is run by Bama and the administration of the conference will always protect and promote Bama over the rest of the schools.

I hate this argument. Based off what we have seen Bama is a middle of the road in the 6 top 10. Outplayed in the two games they played back to back in which they split-losing the second. Now picture Bama trying to get up for another top 10 team next week. You think they win that game?
LSU had 4 games in 5 weeks vs top 10 opponents and bama was the last. Went 2-2. Same regular season winning % as Bama. Playing teams of that caliber in that short length of time wears a team down. Your stars get nicked up ie Jesse Williams knee. Barrett Jones is on crutches. Your starting guard (williford) gets a concussion. Your center misses time. You star MLB goes out with cramps for a couple drives.
We go 11-1 with Bamas schedule. No doubt in my mind.

It costed us a trip to the Sugar Bowl.
In college football, momentum and perception are everything - and both can change quickly. Most would agree Alabama isn't anywhere near the type of team they were last year. They've struggled against the only 3 legitimate teams they've played all year. They escaped in the last few seconds in two of them, and got beat at home in the other.
Take out Mizzou and Tennessee, and throw in a home game against USC and a trip to the Swamp. Would they have won both of those games? Would they have even won one of those?
The fact is, if Alabama had played our schedule, they would likely have two losses right now and wouldn't even be in a BCS game, much less playing for yet another title.

Sitting back and watching things play out left us with SC/UF in 2012 and UGA/UF in 2013.

Playing 4 top 10 teams over the course of a 12 game season puts much more wear on a team than only playing 2.

I'd rather be proactive and lobby now for more equal terms.

But if we say anything it's "LSU fans bitching". Amazing.

may have cost us a SEC Championship.
Hell, we probably go 11-1 with Bama's schedule. Lost to Bama, beat Texas A&M.
