Think along the lines of the Super Bowl or BCS NCG.

I'm hosting a party for the Auburn game and I put down that there will be refreshments provided. Aside from lobby beer I guess that kind of implies there'd be something else.

What's an appropriate mixed drink or other adult beverage to cater to a large group at a house football party? Trying not to digress to my high school hunch punch days

You will have to call information for the island of St Croix and ask for the Rainbow beach club, ask them for a recipe for a Calypso daiquiri. A very delicious(think chocolate malt) dairy based drink that comes with a kick in the arse for power. Most people are bleary eyed after two.

That's what I'm currently leaning towards. Any reason it wouldn't go at a football party?

Stir to blend & serve in a highball over ice with an orange slice.

If you tell me refreshments will be provided, I'm going to expect a reasonably full bar or, I'd bring my own.

I don't understand the concept of a "lobby" drink.

Awesome! I'm going with that right now actually.

Can some of you more seasoned kitchen rats tell me if tgey truly intend for you to only combine lemon peels and sugar? Nothing with the actual lemons themselves?

I've never heard of it either.

eta: To the OP--I would also assume that "refreshments" meant some type of appetizer or finger food. Or Lobby Food, if that's what you call it.

Coconut Rum
1 part Pineapple juice
2 parts Ginger ale
Garnish with a cherry

It's call a Baker Breeze, always a big hit at our parties

+1 on a request for a little more etymology / history on "Lobby Beer". Frat phrase? Family phrase?

The concept takes me back to my first experience with Nick's Big Train bar, where my entrance was blocked by the largest human I'd ever seen. Said human was also a NOLA cop, who said I didn't look drunk enough to enter yet. Handed me some octane-boosting punch drink & that was all she wrote.
