Dog protects other dog who fell in a cistern
VASHON ISLAND, Wash. – A Washington state animal shelter says a dog dutifully stood guard for a nearly a week on Vashon Island to protect another dog that had fallen in a cistern.
Tillie, a setter mix, only left Phoebe's side to try to alert people of her trapped friend.

Few things are more interesting to me as watching a dog do what is has been bread/trained to do.
Its a shame my three shelter mutts have been trained to be lazy spoiled assholes.

Funny. A cat would have killed and prepared fresh meals for his or her (no gender discrimination) canine friend. But you know, being a meat head dog is cool too.

I find it rather humorous that you can act like you cherish one animal's life while you live in such a way that promotes the systematic genocide of millions of animals every year.

Yep. My cat would place a headless bird on my front porch whenever i got angry with him, metal as frick. Dogs are betas and attention whores.

Nothing better than a loyal dog. It's amazing how protective my dog is with our 5yo.
