lower you can do with a punch set and armorer's wrench for castle nut
upper requires vice, torque bar, action block, and a few other small things.
pragmatically, it's easiest just to buy a complete upper and build your lower

Don't forget to use painters tape around the punch pin holes, a few layers of easy off tape can save you regret latter from a misplaced hammer tap.

And be VERY careful with the springs- they can fly off and render your lower parts kit pretty useless if you can't find it on the other side of the garage.
It's a fun afternoon project.

I built my lower using very basic tools, and used channel locks wrapped in electical tape to drive the roll pins and it worked really well. Only two "tools" I had to buy were an armorers wrench (Amazon) and a vice block for my upper to install the barrel. Was really glad I built from scratch bc I got exactly what I wanted

Put the springs in, especially the one for the front push-pin, in the bath tub, with the stopper in the drain & the shower door closed.

To me it was like building a model plane...with tools. Very easy. But I did what another suggested already...built my lower and ordered a complete upper.
Other than that to me it was "put tab A in slot A" and a few YouTube videos.
AR15.com is a great help too...disregard the opinions and just get to the facts on there.
