if SOS does come here, does anyone think his recruiting on the east coast could carryover? schools like UGA and UF have gotten a ton of talent from the SC/NC/VA area. we haven't seen to make any inroads

but looking at USC's recruiting class last year, they got the 1,4,8,10, and 11 guys from NC (you can check, i could be wrong)

Couldn't hurt, but that distance will always be an issue.

It's almost as though North Carolina is in close proximity to South Carolina and home to less successful football programs!

UF gets a lot of guys. i know we're further away but the diff in distance b/w UF and LSU can't be THAT bad

I don't see it happening. The gulf coast is our bread and butter, and most of our efforts should be focused there. It would be nice to get a bluechipper from the east every now and then, but I don't see how we'd be able to sustain anything long term. Remember USC recruits much more nationally than we do.

Does LSU need to go there? We do very well recruiting LA, TX, MS, FL, and cherry picking other states.

it is more of finding other areas we have relationships in to cherry pick a guy here or there

Columbia SC is less than 2 hours away from Charlotte. USC always does well recruiting in NC, as does Va Tech.

Very true - UNC, Duke, NC State, ECU, Wake Forest
are not exactly perennial powerhouses.

Last year I know we got a kicker from Concord, NC.

I would think some of Spurrier's recruiting efforts carry over, at least for this year.

Much like Zook has done with whomever he has on staff with ties to DC.
