Why hasn't there been a 49ers or Joe Montana 30 for 30

They are arguably one of the greatest dynasties in NFL history. Montana one of the greatest QBs ever.
What gives ESPN?

So? Which professional dynasties have they done one on? No 49ers, Cowboys, Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, Yankees, Patriots.

I think they will do one on Shaq and Kobe and another one on Belichick and Brady

Didn't they do one on Debartalo or was that Football Life?

Because he is white with a squeaky clean image. In other words...boring.

That's the whole point of 30 for 30, to highlight some of the unheralded sports stories of the time.
I'm sure they might get to Montana or the Niners someday, but that's really scraping the barrel considering EVERYBODY remembers how great they were.

I'd much rather see a 30 for 30 over those good Florida Marlin teams than Joe Montana and the 49'ers

It's a boring story. The 30 for 30s need some controversy to make them exciting

I think a great 30 for 30 would be the story Calvin Borel winning the Preakness and Derby, but how he used 2 horses as he rode Rachel and Mine that Bird and the back story to it.

Is the other horse racing 30 for 30 good?

I would also like to see a 30 for 30 on the BYU National Championship in 84

I like the fact that all sports documentaries are called 30 for 30.

The ones done by a fan boy as a love letter to his favorite team have largely sucked arse....Both of the Miami ones, the Trojan War,

I disagree about the first 'U' one being shitty. Trojan War was garbage, as is the one about the Kansas fan trying to buy the rules of basketball.
My three favorite ones are 'The Best that Never Was', 'Slaying the Badger' and 'The Two Escobars'

Yeah..tbh...I'd probably turn it off halfway through...and I'm a niners fan

I don't know, man. 30 for 30s were always hard hitting, then that first one about The U just seemed like a puff piece with Uncle Luke giggling about the crooked things he did.
I thought OJ was a dumb idea, but it ended up being a great historical document. That said, the spirit of digging up unknown stories began dying with things like Fab Five, and is being killed by Darryl/Doc and the 85 Bears, etc.

Eh the first U was a bunch of has beens that clearly haven't moved on pretending they never lost a game and were God's gift to CFB

To be fair if you're under 30 the 85 Bears and Daryl/Doc aren't extremely well known.
