Which ones were flooded, and what's the latest news or plans?

To my knowledge DTHS took no water.
St. Amant HS did. How bad?
EAHS?
Etc?

I read somewhere that Dutchtown is opening its doors to all displaced students.

If they're good at football.

St. Amant
Galvez Middle
Galvez Primary
Lake Primary
Lakeside Primary

Those are the one known, someone said EA and St. Amant Middle/Elementary also took on water damage. The pictures I've seen of The Pit make it look like a swimming pool which if accurate then the Middle/Primary school certainly took on water.

I see that the teachers are to report to school next week unless they can't. At that time decisions will be made what to do...

Someone mentioned bringing in temporary buildings to help out with the schools while sending other students to other local schools. Someone else said moving schools to Lamar Dixon and using the buildings there.

12 month employees report to work Monday. That's basically administrators and just a few teachers. Most teachers are not 12 month employees.

High schools may resume extracurricular activities on Monday, per an email I saw.

I posted this in another thread....

When salmen high got destroyed in Katrina, they made an arrangement with northshore high, since northshore high did not have any damage. Northshore high students went from like 6am to noon and salmen high students went from like 1pm to 7pm. Since some teachers were not able to come back right away, some NHS teachers ended up teaching SHS students and vice versa.

I wonder if the same type of arrangement will be made in Ascension.

Watching the adults whine and complain about this has been amusing today. Like they are the only ones displaced.

Doing it this way is much better than waiting a month or two for the repairs to finish. Apparently some parents think the schools will have all repairs done next week.

If I had young kids right now, who didn't like video games, I'd kill myself.

Ok, maybe extreme, but I'd be legitimately crazy.

How does athletics and band work with this? Does one school practice and do clubs in the morning and the other in the morning?

We will have one kid at Lakeside, and one at RPCC. This should be fun.
