I don't buy that.
She cancelled those fireworks for a reason. Her internals HAD to have shown her something.
Even if she didn't have a speech prepared, how difficult would it have been to just show up and make a few gracious off-the-cuff remarks?

I don't think she could physically come out there. The total implosion we've been anticipating would surely have happened.
