Say he wants to have a coalition government and not be labeled by party affaltion ? Might help everybody avoid incoming attacks from the left. At age 70 trump might not want to run again anyway

No. He's just changing it.

What's the point?
No need to rock the boat right now.
He's been extremely magnanimous, and I think he'll continue down that road.
Trump didn't become a businessman savant by acting on emotion.s

Why, he just remade it in the Tea Party image. Trust me, no electric republican is going to fight trump at this point. Many are going to beg forgiveness.

I think Teddy Roosevelt tried to go outside the two party structure and it didn't work well for him.

No, the RNC did a great job of supporting him on the ground. They got out the vote for sure.

The true GOP abandoned its principals years ago. Trump is a mix of Republican conservatism... America first... with some social liberalism mixed in. Honestly he is more of an Independent than the Republican of the last 15 to 20 years.
I used to be a Republican but now consider myself more Independent. I am fiscally conservative, pro gun, don't care if 2 women want to get married, etc...etc... I think this is the majority of "republicans" nowadays.
