I see a lot of concern about the amount of 3 star players we have so far in this class. While I share in most of y'alls concern, I trust that the coaching staff is getting the right players.

As we all know, every recruiting cycle there are players that gain stars. Who in y'all's opinion is most likely to gain a 4th, or a 5th star out of the guys already committed?

Possibilities are kelvin joseph solidifying his 5th, Nelson Jenkins, Cotton, Anderson if we hold on to him, after watching Labs spring game Damone Clark will be the number one LB in the country get his 5th. Kid is a freak of an athlete and just hits hard as hell. Dare with a strong season could also earn a 5th.

I have quite a few guys that are and will be 4 or 5 stars when its all said and done. My list is!
Micah Baskerville
Nelson Jenkins
Travez Moore
Chris Curry
Cole Smith
Cameron Wire
Trae Provens
Jeray Jenkins
Zach Sheffer.
All these guys are underrated and should be ranked higher imo.

I can easily see Nelson Jenkins, Chris Curry, Tae Provens, Cameron Wire, Jaray Jenkins, Travez Moore, Micah Baskerville, and maybe Zach Sheffer getting their 4th or 5th star by the end of the recruiting cycle.

Clark, Anderson, and Joseph could bump to 5 stars. I see us landing two more 5 stars that aren't yet committed also.

Baskerville, Jenkins, Curry, Provens, and possibly Washington(height will play factor) will all be 4 stars.

I really don't understand how people don't see this if you watch any of these kids play. It's one of the most irrational melts I've seen on tigerdroppings in nearly a decade.

Can we stop with all this five star nonsense? A three star has never jumped all the way to a five star in the history of ratings services. If you can find a single example then please let me know. Hint: if it has ever happened then it would likely be with Scout because they have 50 5*

I don't think any three star will jump to five, but one or more of our four stars could. Like Anderson for example

Was told by well respected guy Anderson is not leaving home.. so expect him gone.. maybe we can hold on but my source is good. Griffin is gone as expected so a few spots open. Bolden will shite it down soon and seems to be between us and tcu. Valentine and Carter are close but cloud be at any time. Looking good with both. Joined seems to be more of a long shot as of now if we pull one or both of these guys. If he doesn't pull the trigger beforehand

When did Griffin decommit? I know it's been speculated but didn't see that it actually happened yet.

From 375 to # 1

Recruits do go from three to five stars just happened with this last class. Jaelan Phillips went from barely a 3 to the number one concensus recruit in the country.

There is something that has been overlooked in all of the stargazing and that is player development. Phillips went from a three to a five star because he developed by the end of his senior year. I don't think all of our three stars will develop into five stars by the end of the recruiting cycle but I do feel the majority of them will become four or five stars eventually. It just may not happen until their freshman or sophomore year of college. When coaches are evaluating recruits they not only look at their current abilities but also what their future talent could yield. I have no problem with having 25 three star kids if they play like 4 and 5 stars when it's time for them to see the field and play.

Coaches have done a damn good job of it so far! Getting a lot on campus to see on the 8th so I'll let you know how a few look!

Tredavious White jumped from 3* to 5* in his recruiting class on 247 sports. There I found your example.

Why does it matter if the same player is ranked a 3 star rather than a 4 star does he gain magical ablities when he is bumped up to a 4 star?

I was simply curious as to what people thought. I am not a star gazer at all. We've had 3 stars succeed and 3 stars flop, same as 4 and 5 star kids. As we all know kids mature at different times, both physically and emotionally, meaning they might not hit their stride until their senior years, which would aid in getting them an additional star. My only "concern" about it is over all class ranking, and the perception of Coach O and the rest of the coaches. I like seeing LSU in the top 3 on the over all recruiting class because it sends a message to both fans and rivals that we are getting better. Also, I want Coach O and Co. to succeed. Everyone knows the more 4 and 5 stars a class has, the higher the ranking. I want to see this staff get recognized for their hard work by being highly ranked in the recruiting class. Being that it's only summer, there is an entire football season for these kids to improve and get those stars that will make this class look better to the national audience and the recruiting sites.

I agree, I can't wait to see how our recruiting class ranks after this football season.

The guys listed who could possibly get bumped to 5 stars are already 4's. For a poster who is leading the charge on the star obsession you surely don't have a basic understanding of the class as it stands today.
