Tottenham's new 61,500-seater home, due to be ready for the start of the 2018-19 season, will include a retractable grass pitch for football matches, and a synthetic pitch underneath for NFL matches, music concerts and other events

Very interesting to see how this goes. Wonder if a few MLS teams like Seattle look in to this in the future

Doubtful for Seattle, IMO. It would require re-engineering of CenturyLink Field.

That's really cool, but looks like expensive maintenance. Would love to go for a weekend double header although they probably won't schedule NFL and PL on the same weekend.

I thought the Arizona Cardinals already had a retractable field.

Seems dumb to divide the pitch in 3 parts... I know it's not quite as wide but the Cardinals make it work just fine.

Countless blades of grass will be harmed.

Other way around. Looks like the artificial NFL field will be underneath the PL pitch that will be rolled in. At least that's how it was in the video I watched.

I guess they changed the initial plan to use grass for NFL.

I don't think the plan was ever to have grass for NFL. Turf for NFL and concerts.
