Buying a new driver, have a R 15 with X-stiff.

I’ve never had a lot of luck with Callaway drivers, but they say this one is awesome.

I’ve personally hit the M1 and liked it, but wouldn’t trade my 913 for it. I just don’t see it as that big of an upgrade. My buddy had the R1 and switched to M1 and is happy with his purchase.

That’s all I got.

Thx,
Some that made the change to either club have increased ball speed 4-8 mph and gained up to 15 yds. I leading towards the M1 because I can used by current shaft without modifications.

I played Taylormade and Ping before I tried a Callaway and I had 2 different ones. It just never felt right. Then came the titleist. It’s going to take the head breaking to make me get something new. If I were in the market, M1/M2 or Ping G400 is where I would start.

Love my 913.

But to the OP. Check out Rick Shiels YouTube channel on both club. He did a review on them.

Just get fit the right shaft for YOU in the head you enjoy looking at the most at address and feel confident in.....otherwise the 4-10 yard gain off of the tee isn’t gonna mean much.

I have the Epic SZ but the M1 3W. Most of it has to do with the shaft, imho because every head is so forgiving now. But I really don’t like that big white notch thing on top of the M1. Doesn’t bother me on the smaller profile of the 3W.

Hit both and see which one you like more

For me it was epic sz over m1 and m2.

Go hit all the available drivers with a fitter. Then you’ll know you’ve got the right one for you.

I;ve hit both. Callaway lacked in feel but the head shape fit my eye. M1 had "better" feel than the Callaway but felt like I was swinging a sail when windy.
Was pretty bummed, and then gave the Ping G400 a go. From a numbers standpoint, it was in a league of its own. This is a must hit if you're buying a new driver.

Just get fitted. I played Adams and Taylormade for years. Epic SZ with the weight forward won on Trackman.

I hit both when I got fitted and the M1 spun a little more and didn't go quite as far. Really close though.

I really like my Epic SZ. Like others, I hadn't had good experience with Callaway Drivers but this one is a pretty good club.

I started out with the Epic this year. I tried 3 different shafts, but it just didn't work for me, just too much spin. I moved to the M1 and it is the best driver I've ever hit for my swing. The biggest factor is you.

Agreed, love the M1, tries the epic and the sz and just didn't get the same forgiveness or numbers that I got with m1

Tried the Epic vs the 2016 M1 this year and both had similar performance for me. I went with the M1 cause it was cheaper and the kuro kage shaft fit me well. You really can’t go wrong with either driver though. They are both rocket launchers when hit well. It’s really all about which shaft fits you best

I moved to the M2 this year.

My oldest son tried every driver out there - Callaway Epic was the winner for him.

The M2 worked for my swing and had the best numbers. The shaft was key though.

Disclosure - I am getting old and weak - my nitro is setting

I bought both Epic 3 W and driver and absolutely love them. The 3 W is an absolute rocket launcher. Picking The right shaft is everything so do not cheap out. I have a slow swing speed but I gained distance and control. All of the new drivers have the same MOI so pick the one the fits you best . Pulling the money out of the wallet is the hard part but you must have reliable fitted woods cause you use those clubs constantly so spend the money and you’ll never regret it.
