re: Baton Rouge Greens Report

Sir, with all due respect, what are you talking about lol? Like what course are you using for comparison to say coppers greens are that bad? I live out here and have for ten years. The greens are the best they have ever been going into dormant season and they have been horrible before, so I can say this in true transparency.
There are maybe 3 greens in total that have a few spots on them (#2, #4, #16) and only 2 and 6 have "spots" on them being filled in and they are on the outside rings of the green and only a few spots. The greens are rolling between 9-10. Not sure what weeds your talking about either ??

Absolutely correct, and to protect the investment since the carts will auto shut off if you get to close to the greens, which everyone use to do before we had the GPS carts. The distance also is nice to have front, center, and back, but it was not intended to be something to give exact yardage to the pin, thus rangefinder in everyone's bag. But I promise you thag if you forget your rangefinder, you will be be happy we have the GPS
To my knowledge, there is no additional fee to walk, just pay the green fee and you should be set to go.

Great question and I agree with you. We have discussed it, scoped it out as far as materials and cost, and are looking at how it can be implemented at the club. At the current moment a wedge range has been installed that goes out 120 yards and has 6 target pins at varying yardages. Trust me, we are doing everything within our power as home owners and members at copper to get it right for everyone. We appreciate all of you and your support.

Homeowner out at Copper, and truly appreciate the feedback from everyone. It's been a tough summer with no rain and the equipment still not being in, but we are trying like heck to get the course back to the glory days.
The GPS was added in not only for the guest to have a better experience when playing, but also as a measure to stop carts from driving next to greens and destroying the area. Thus the carts turn off if they get inside the designated area. We want everyone to have the best experience possible but also protect the investment we made which the GPS system enables us to do. The system also allows guest to order food or bev before they get to the turn so they don't have to wait. Really hope to have you out and again, appreciate your feedback.

Foot golf hasn't been there in 7 months what are you taking about?
You literally talk out of your arse more than anybody in this entire forum... You talk all this negativity about a course being bad a year ago???? Are you serious? A lot can happen to a golf course in a year if maintained properly I suggest you Go play the course then come back and tell everyone your sorry for being an idiot

Copper has a 3 man scramble on Wednesday nights. 9 hole $20 total and that gets you in the game with a cart. Was pretty fun
Trust me when I tell you that I have over 25 hours of research easily into this over the last 2 years if you're trying to stay cost-effective the best one hands down is going to be big moss putting green it's unbelievable for the price if you want to spend some real money on it then Pro putt systems is what a lot of colleges and Pros use for their outdoor material or indoor greens I own both and I will tell you that if you have 3K laying around then Pro putt is the way to go
ell_13 Why would the HOA close the course and use the land for lots to bring down dues? That would mean every person with a house on the golf course would lose 30% of their home value which makes no sense and would never be approved?
you stated that "they didnt have the membership to hang on long."... HANG ON LONG insinuates that they course will not be able to be open long, which clearly is incorrect due to everything I stated with the Level Purchases.
Do you think before you post or do you just write out whatever nonsense comes to your mind at the time?

This is 100% correct, and a very accurate assessment of whats happened and going on. I am familiar with the group you are speaking about and yes your right. I am pretty sure that game has started to break apart because it looks like a much smaller group then it use to. Beavers greens and Fennwoods greens are AWESOME and when I lived in zachary it was like golf heaven :). However all 3 courses are fun in my opinion and all have their own unique characteristics which make them great. I would love to see copper get back to the pristine days, and based on the purchasing of all the lots, and the redoing of the club house, it looks like they may try and get back there.
ell_13 Your making ignorant comments that you have no proof to back up. Considering the course is owned by HOA and all the remaining lots have been purchased in the neighborhood through Level Construction as of a couple of months ago, which means that the course is in short guaranteed to stay open unless some catastrophic situation were to happen like another flood wiping outthe course or the course catching on fire. There is a reason the residents who live there pay $1500 in HOA fees, and when the course was purchased they budgeted hoping that a certain number of lots would be bought and built on. With the purchase level made of all remaining lots, it went above the home count the HOA initially budgeted for which means they have more money to work with then what was budgeted. So no they are not going to close, and you obviously have no idea what talking about.
14 of the 18 greens are in perfect shape, 2 still have issues like i said and the other 2 have new sod on the problem areas... so yea they are about in perfect shape.
lastly, you have clearly showed everyone here by your response on copper closing that you have no idea what your talking about and are a joke

I guess this is why I get upset and go immediately on the defensive. Because your ABSOLUTEY right, I dont want to see another golf course close either. Its a fun a track and I have enjoyed playing it from the coppers, and now enjoying my time at the front tees when I can get out there. Not to mention their pricing is lower then most places and thats why i continue to make the drive out there. The sr special day on tuesday is $25 for round and lunch :). It just flusters me when people make comments about the prior management and their prior experiences before this new management came in. Negative comments can spread like wildfire (especially in the golf community) and hurt a course badly. If I were you I would call copper, ask for Patrick, and explain the situation because that kind of crap should never happen. We did have a few members out there who I could see doing this when I was a member there, so i believe you.I am sure they will make it right if you explain it to him.
-Ell_13 Explain how its mismanaged? Dont just make the comment, justify what your alleging.
-When you say something is on life support that means its close to closing. That is incorrect in this situation.
-The greens have come back, I just played there friday and only saw issues with #1 and #2. They put new green down on the issues with 7 and 16. If you can name a green other then those that had issues please do.
-No I am not Patrick the manager, but I play copper a lot and was a former member there. I now am a member at False River Country Club because I retired there, do you want to say anything negative about that course to while you are at it?

These comments are almost unreal.. you people are commenting on management that isn't there anymore, half of you were saying it's on life support yet the place just redid the entire Clubhouse and cart barn so you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Their management team has treated me like family every time I've been and I had one issue with slow play and was given a free round. The greens have come back perfectly as of the beginning of this month and only have two holes with small issues. For the person that had their coat stolen you clearly did not go to the general manager and say anything because the general manager there is named Patrick and never would have let that stand if what you're saying is even true. I love Santa Maria I love Beavercreek I love Carter but I get tired of watching people bash on copper that have no idea what they're talking about.
