Great deal on a really good budget phone. Android 7.0, no bloatware, fingerprint reader, 32 GB storage, Front 5 MP / Rear 12 MP, and 5.2" display (1920 X 1080).
If looking for a good, cheap, new phone, this is a good deal.

What's the RAM on it?

Do they sell the 4GB at Costco because that would definitely be the one I get if I needed one.

I think I'm gonna get the G5S Plus, but I'm waiting to see what the Moto Z2 Force does and if the price drops any. T-Mobile offered the Z2 Force for only $300 this past Cyber Monday, hopefully AT&T will do something similar soon. If I can get the Z2 Force for under $400, then I'll probably go that route. If not, then I'm getting the G5S Plus. Upgraded camera, slightly larger display, slightly better battery, turbo charging option, etc. My wife hs the G5 Plus and has no complaints though. For the price, it's the best bang for your buck you can get without spending a fortune.

I don't like being those types of people but the OnePlus 5/5T are 499 or lower. You can find a OnePlus 5 on Swappa in the 3's. That is a great great phone.

Moto Z2 Play Unlocked version on sale from Motorola from $499 for $349. 64 GB 4GB RAM and their top phone. Hell of a deal.

I looked at the Z2 Play yesterday at Best Buy, but I didn't care for the camera. I thought the camera on the Z2 Force was much better. Maybe I'll go look at it again.

I have this phone. It works great for me. Admittedly, I don't play games on my phone, but I do surf the net, text, e-mail, etc. It works great for me. The camera is decent, the screen looks good, and the battery life is great, as I don't have to put this on the charger in the middle of the day.
This is the first time I've bought a budget phone for myself. I usually don't get the flagship phones, but usually settle for the outgoing model - I normally would buy a Samsung S7, after the S8 is out. However, honestly, this Moto G5 is better than the LG G4 that I bought a couple of years ago, so it's still an upgrade for me.

How's the camera? Does it do portrait mode, fade the background?

I have no idea. I'm a point and click kinda guy. It has a lot of features that I haven't played with.
