Live PD: Did Leveret potentially violate 4th Amnd. rights last night.

Don't have a clip. Maybe someone can help lurker out. My summation:
Pulled a vehicle over. His awesome K9, Flex alerted on a makeup case with a 3 digit combo lock. He threatened 2 or 3 occupants to give him the combo, or he'd "bust it open." One guy gave up the combo: 000, at that, revealing a mini pharmacy.
My (probably misinformed) understanding is that no one has to volunteer a combo, but can evoke their 5th amendment right not to incriminate themselves.
If they would have done so, would any attempt to "Bu-sht" it open constitute illegal search and seizure, or is it allowed, citing probable cause?
Thanks in advance for your responses, both serious, and typical OT ridonkculous.

I think the dog alerting him means probable cause

That's what I was looking for.

They had probable cause.

The fourth amendment only applies to people who can pay for lawyers.

Once that dog sniffs anything, they have 100% probable means to check the whole car and anything inside the car out.

I'm not sure of the legality but no way I would have given up the code.. of course that guy was high on meth.

I've never seen a dog not hit on that show

They can force the case open based on PC.

They alert when their owners want them to alert.

Not that I don't appreciate him taking out TPOS, but the way Leveret works really irks me. I saw the episode last night and I thought the way he went about getting the lock combo was questionable. I thought when the show was airing earlier last year when I first started watching... Dan Abrams took a more vocal defense attorney stance with comments on officers acting in ways that would get the suspect out of major charges. Now he seems to just keep quite and bring jokes.
As for Leveret, I hate when he is instructing someone. He reminds me of people that will tell you instructions backwards, "push the red button, but not before pushing the blue button". Then he uses that command confusion to get frustrated and bring up one of his many key phrases like "see, look what you made me do".
I have to mute it when he goes on his "more than fair" rants. "Do you think I'm being more than fair? I am being more than fair. Tell me I'm being more than fair."

The alert from the dog gives probable cause.

Especially from an animal that eats it's own vomit.
I'd like to see a cop train an animal they everyone despises to sniff out drugs and see if it was socially and legally acceptable.

Leveret is the greasiest cop on that show. That guy would consider the dog scratching some fleas an alert.
