Never cared much for homeless people, but I have a true disdain for those with pets. Poor dog loves that loser.
They use the dogs as a deterrent for law enforcement.
If you arrest one of them for vagrancy or loitering or something similar, now you also have to deal with the dog.

LSU has to divulge exactly how our shared revenue is divided, and other states do not have to do this, it will put LSU at a competitive disadvantage.
Sucks for LSU, guess they’ll has to figure out how to overcome it. There’s 0 reason for public funds to not be tracked.

the bottom level TOPs requirements are insanely low IMO I realize that it doesn't pay out that much, but a 2.5 GPA and 20 ACT score is not hard in HS
Totally.
It’s just become LA govt welfare for colleges at this point. It needs to be for kids who put in the work and earned it.
3.0 and a 24 on the ACT should be the minimum.
I know not everyone is a good test taker and in cases like that where a student only gets a 20/21 on the ACT but a 3.5/4.0 in their classes is a good way to alleviate those students from not qualifying. Kids maintained a GPA like that shows they understand the material just may not take standardized tests well.

I think we’ve gotten to the point of everyone just expects TOPS instead of earning it.
I remember when I graduated (like 20years ago) you had to have a 3.0 in core classes only so you couldn’t pad your GPA with four PE classes or anything and I believe you needed a 21 on ACT.

Yeah, adjust the wording. It isn’t that hard of a concept. Stop giving free money to failure.
They aren’t. When you fail, you no longer qualify and don’t get any money. :dunno:
Even with the VA benefits you don’t have to pay back money from two years ago if you fail.
I can see you having to pay back maybe that semester or that class, I can agree on that, but no way you should be financially liable for classes you took freshman year and passed because you failed a class your sophomore or junior year.

If you signed a contract agreeing to that. Paying back moving or signing bonus isn't unheard of in those situations.
It’s not a moving or signing bonus…it’s a scholarship you qualified for.
Then, you didn’t. So now you don’t get it.
They continue to lower the requirements to get tops, then get pissed that kids are failing out. Well no shite a kid with a 2.5 GPA and a 19 ACT score isn’t making A/Bs consistently in college.
This state continues its downward spiral due to ignorant shortsightedness.

So…you hire me, I do a good job and meet expectations for two years.
Then my third year I don’t and you fire me.
Now I pay back my salary for the two previous years?

Not to derail the thread, but we’ve (America) have arrested cops for making what we perceive the wrong decision in mere seconds.
Kind of feel like a doctor removing the wrong organ in a relatively controlled setting it’s a bit out the box.

also think there is a moral/philosophical component to this too. Didn't serve, so open to thoughts.
Our casualty aversion is so high and most Americans are so removed from tangible losses (property or life) in warfare that a few drone strikes succeeding out of thousands can create a political crisis.
Part of that is the nature of conflicts we get involved in, of course. But still, the enemy knowing that it only has to succeed a couple of times and kill a few dozen servicemembers to potentially greatly undermine our mandate makes it all the more attractive to them and widens the incongruity for us.
Historically, Americans have always had a very short attention span in regards to wars/conflicts and you can find evidence of that in the 17/1800’s. It’s just something we here don’t with very well, which strategically, hampers what policies get implemented because politicians start to feel the heat.

The problem that we have is we have gotten so obsessed with condensing our forces to be a “smaller, faster, and agile” fighting force.
The issue with that is it becomes overly reliant on high tech to make up for the lack of numbers, thus increasing the price point for all of the equipment. Additionally, with the reduced numbers, you can quickly go from 100% to 80/90% effectiveness with a couple well placed/timed strikes and or mishaps.

official announcement that I've seen Video coming out of Iran indicates something may have happened. But so far only rumors.
I’ve only seen independent news sources, Jack Murphy being the first i saw, state this.
There’s a few videos on insta of a pretty legit firefight that I haven’t seen before so definitely new footage.
Supposedly villagers were helping to hide the WSO.
