Vw marketer #1: I think the World Cup is an incredible opportunity to make America forget about fraudulent emissions claims. But we need a great hook. Anyone got an idea?
Vw marketer #2: I have one! Every time our commercial comes on, we remind U.S. fans that their team failed to qualify for the World Cup finals. Then we follow it up with a thin attempt at humor and play the commercials with nauseating frequency.
