Ceramic floor tile cracking

I have a few tiles in my bathroom that are cracked. Is there a filler I can inject into the cracks? Really don’t want to have to replace the tile. Thanks.

Not to my knowledge.
I can understand perhaps getting some cracks in your grout, why is the tile cracking?

What did they lay it on top of?
You could put some fresh grout over the cracks, or break out and replace the broken tiles.

Are some of the tiles more "hollow" sounding than others when stepped on? There is likely too little thinset underneath some of them. That's what was wrong with mine atleeast.

If you had some stains suddenly appear on your ceiling after a thunderstorm, would you go ahead and repair the ceiling or would you look up into the attic and try to repair the roof first?

I assume the slab. Is it easy to match tile from a house built in 2006?

Is this slab on grade? Its possible you have cracks in the slab that translate through the tile.

Don’t think so. I assume the slab is cracked.

They didn’t bond it to the floor. I bet you could almost lift all your tile right off the slab

More likely the thinset. And no, if you didn't get extra tiles when you had the tile installed, you will never find a tile that matches up exactly right.

Cracked tile could be a sign of problems with your foundation.

Sigh,
My point was, why try to repair the tile until you find the cause of the tile cracking?

So, basically re-tile the entire bathroom is my only option?
Posted on 8/21/18 at 7:05 am to djangochained
Because I don’t want to.

Pretty much. It’s just a bathroom could be way worse. Look at it this way... now you can do it right and get a tile you like. Get extra tiles too!

Slab settling and cracking can lead to cracks forming in the tiles. Also could be from not enough mortar under the tiles.
Odds of matching tiles from 2006 are about 0.350% chance. And even in the unlikely chance you found the same tile, odds are it will be from a different run/dye lot and the shade won’t match the existing tiles. This is why installer and floor salesman should’ve told you to hang onto an extra box or so of tiles in case something like this happens because odds are slim to none of finding the exact same tile again a few years down the road.

Like others said, could be foundation issue or a shitty tile job.
There isnt a way to fill it and look good, just replace the tile.
Even if you found the exact same model tile the chances of it matching your tile are slim to none.
