I asked in another thread, but it was sort of lost in that topic.

I seem to recall it might have been him making overtures to us, but does anyone have any information that he caught the eye of any other program or their coach?

He was at Penn State and was close to Joe Morehead. Neither of which thought him valuable enough to keep or bring with him.. Sean Payton was really the only one that recognized his potential before Ed O got wind of him.

The Story is that he blew Orgeron away when we were visiting the Saints coaches.

Moorehead said it was a great hire.

Gattis the OC at Michigan said if he had taken a HC position at a smaller school he would have called Brady about being OC.

He came to LSU to give a talk on Spread / RPO concepts. He impressed the staff and at the end of the year O offered him a job ( WR coach retired)

I'm sure a lot of schools have their eye on him.

Which is why we need to promote him to OC. Let Ensminger stay on as a special assistant or something.

I could live with him leaving to go be a head coach somewhere else. I’d be insanely pissed if we let him walk to go be an OC somewhere else.

I love that coach O learned the lesson of not micromanaging and isn’t too proud to let coaches that know more about a topic than him, coach.

Yeah, nobody’s letting that happen.

Reportedly O had no clue who Brady was before the meeting with the Saints. After Brady gave his presentation, O asked, “Who’s that guy?”

And the rest, as they say, is history.

If LSU lets him get away to be an OC anywhere else, I'd be pissed as well. LSU should pony up $$$$ for this guy.

In this day and age of spread concepts I don't think Brady is doing anything that any other team can't run.
Both NFL and college are copycat leagues when it comes to schemes.
The one thing LSU hasn't done compared to the Saints is the way the Saints have utilized Kamara in the passing game.

It's been a combo of things.
You hit on Joe Burrow who learned from Urban Meyer and staff for 3 years.
Now he had an offseason to work with LSU personnel and a season of playing time under his belt.
The WR's have come of age and Chase and Marshall (before injury) really elevated their game to match Jefferson.
It's been a perfect storm for the offense this year.

Next year will present some challenges:
new QB who is not near as accurate as Burrow but does have a strong arm, not sure what kind of leader he will be

Yep, I’m sure Ensminger would not make a stink about it, either. I’m sure he realizes that it’s a different game now and one that he’s probably not equipped to handle. However, I’d want to keep him on staff s as well. I appreciate Ensminger immensely.

Because they haven't had to, no one has shut down the down field passing of JB. We might see some in the Auburn game but we won't face a good passing defense the rest of the season.

Nope, i dont think any other school really knew he was interested in leaving the saints.

Remember, we got the guy to come here as an annalist. He will be a hot commodity this off-season tho.

They are running the offense together and is working well. Promote Brady formally to Co-OC if SE wants to be around for a while. Also, we don't know if Brady alone is better than both of them working together.

He's not going to be offered a head coaching gig.

This urban myth of Orgeron micromanaging and it ran Canada off needs to end. Canada was a rank asswipe that alienated just about everyone around him......the players hated him as did much of the coaching staff namely D. Aranda.

Brady is still friends with Payton from his time on the Saints staff. Payton recommended Brady to Orgeron and I suspect that next year Ensminger steps down to being TE's, etc and Brady moves up to OC unless Pete Carmichael is looking to rewtire then he's going back to the Saints

Yes. We must enjoy Burrow while we have him. Accuracy... reading defenses.. going through progressions.. using his eyes to look off defenses..

It will be a big challenge for Brady and for Brennan.

We will have an inexperienced but very talented defensive line room.

Brady is not going anywhere just yet.
