Boys, I’ve been lifting for about a year consistently and had no injuries. Today I fractured both my right wrist and right clavicle playing basketball. What should I do to maintain my gains while recovering? Thanks.

Rest that arm. You can still work out. You just can’t put strain on that arm. You will experience atrophy, which sucks. The good news is that it’s easier to build up the muscles again in comparison to when you first started. Just give it time.

Taking that charge wasn’t the best idea, was it?

Do some unilateral stuff with your left upper. A few studies show it prevents some atrophy on the right side too.

Focus on leg stuff you can do. If you have a dipping belt, belt squats can work for something that won't load your clavicle or wrist.

Lots of bike, other cardio. Most of all, don't freak out about losing gains. They'll come back if you program properly post recovery.

Lol not quite. I actually tried to block somebody that was going for a posterizing slam only problem was that he’s 7 foot and I’m about 5’10 ... at least he didn’t finish lol

Once muscles reach a certain point, they are better equipped to get back to that point. You're gonna have to deal with the atrophy and get back when you can.

Don't rush it tho.
