Tour Response ($35) and Soft Response ($25) will be available at retail on 2/28/2020. Tour Response will be offered in white and yellow, while Soft Response will be available in white, yellow and matte red. Go to TaylorMadeGolf.com for more information on our Tour Response and Soft Response golf balls.

Both Tour Response and Soft Response are engineered to efficiently transfer energy and rebound at impact. The Tour Response core has an ultra-low compression of 40, while Soft Response is even lower at 35. The 3-piece construction further allows for soft feel while maintaining impressive distance.

My driver speed is 100 but I know my irons are slower. I wonder if these are worth looking into. I know people say soft golf balls are useless though..

I don't know what to think about ball selection. MyGolfSpy did a big test on most balls in 2019.

MyGolfSpy

Their consensus, with data, suggested that soft is slow which means less distance, at both higher and slower swing speeds. Data is data, but it seems that "feel" needs to play some kind of role. The difference in a soft ball and a firm ball is certainly noticeable in sound and feel at impact. I tried TourX balls for a bit, but the softer balls gave me more confidence around the greens. I like my TP5 compared to the TP5x.

FWIW, conventional advice (what Tiger does) suggests using the ball that gives you the best results around the green.

What are your thoughts and experiences?

I’ve only been playing for 2 years and am a 17 handicap, so my experience has been with Noodle golf balls and balls I buy from lostgolfballs.com.

I really like the taylormade project A as my go to gamer, I buy a 96 bucket 5A for $70 online. Sounds good off the driver. Love it on the greens.

But I was given a box of Chrome Soft balls, and those are the best I’ve played with. By far my favorite balls.

If price wasn’t a factor I’d play Chrome Soft. But for now I’m playing Project A.

I have hit a few ProV1X and they just sound like a rock coming off my club heads. Those balls are made for someone with a higher swing speed than mine so I don’t even try.

I'll be curious to see how the Tour Response plays. $35 for a three piece urethane ball isn't bad at all. I'll probably pick some up after I play through the TP5s I have left

It’s a 40 compression 3 piece urethane and the project a is a 3 piece urethane with 70 compression

You sound just like me 25 years ago but I was rolling with Noodles and Beta Ti-techs. A ball youre confident in is what you want to play with, and when you’re not playing, practice your short game.

Right now it’s Project A’s except when I’m gifted chrome soft balls.

I do want to try the snell black. See how they compare to chrome soft

I do like the Project A's. good ball.
If you like the soft feel. Might want to give the Bridgestone e12 soft a try. Great reviews and very affordable. Just a thought.
