I play blades

Me too. Nothing feels like a Mizuno.

I played MP60s (forged) and went for an upgrade fully expecting to get fit for JPXs (cavity back). Ended up with blended set of MP20s (6-P) and MMCs (4-5). Had too much “turf interaction” with the wider sole of the cavity back clubs. The thinner sole of the forged works for my swing. 9 hdcp.

I feel like removing that rule would remove the incentive to sandbag since all the rounds used for handicapping are in the league.

That’s why I’m looking for some sort of excessive point rule. I feel you should score within a range. Maybe +/- 3 or 4.
+13 is obscene.
I get what you’re saying, but not sure our guys are aware of how many times they have won in a year.
I guess we will just deal with it.
Thanks for the input
I watched the first one and that's it.
I'd rather watch more YouTube Invitationals.
More intriguing. Maybe add and equal amount of female golfers?

The more I think about it, the more I think you'll have a tough time with this.

This looks like a great app for leagues with hdcp's. I'm sure you can't substitute points for GHIN numbers. Hmmmm.
If the sandbagger wasn't such a big MOFO, we just beat him. He's former OPD SWAT.

I'm pretty good with Squabbit by now

So I set up our league. What do you do for players without handicaps? 95% of our group does NOT have hdcp. We all have “established” points. Will it work with that?

We have guys that are 3 and 4 handicaps that can't break 80

My brain does not compute this!

It wouldn't change based on the course rating?

Nope. And that's probably the rub. As I mentioned, it's a very simple league and the "Commissioner" is not interested in deep dives, he just let's EXCEL calculate the rolling month and the "number is the number."

Yep, that's our league. The only consequence is you cannot win two times in a 12-month span. If you do, your points go up by how much you pulled. And you are stuck at that number for 3-months.

This is to limit someone who is on a hot-streak from taking all the money every month. So if this was the Sandbaggers second win, his points would go up by 13.

I recommend 50% adjustment after every round.

Interesting. Not sure how you would adjust for course difficulty (we play a different course every month) and for negative numbers – players who did not pull their points. I'll have to see how that works with our numbers. Thank you.

I am also a bit confused by your post.

Not sure how to describe it accurately. It's a very simple first Saturday of the month league. No GHIN usage, as most do not have a hdcp.

We have a rolling 12-month average of points pulled per month. When you start, you play 3 months to establish your POINTS and that is your even/level total.
Every 13th month, the 1st would drop off and you'd average the "new" twelve. So we play from Oct 2024 to Sept 2025.
The next Oct 2025 the first one (Oct 2024) drops off and you average the 12 months with the new round. Repeats every month.

We have been doing this for 25 years, so the "averages" are as good as the EXCEL sheet. :)

Yes, I am have a GHIN of 8.9 and have established my points at 25. Can go up or down a point, depending on what drops off. I pulled 31 points, so my total was +6.
The sandbagger only has to pull 16 and pulled 29 for a total of +13.

From what I understand, our league would be hard to regulate since not everyone has a hdcp.

It's a really fun league, but I feel like I am just donating to the pot every month.
Trying to find some way to make it more equitable. We do have skins and CTPs, so that helps as I had two each. :)

All About the Fun League
Anyone have experience with a Stableford League and the handicapping / points used? I’m in a casual league that uses a rotating 12-month system. You play 3 months to establish your points to pull. Ranges from 25 highest to an 11.

Our biggest issue is the top players seem to get screwed. Just had a player who only has to pull 16 shoot a +13. Is there a way to implement a sandbagging policy?
You should not be able to almost double your points. I’m a 25 and would have had to shoot 70 to tie him. My lowest ever is 73, but I average 80.6.
I realize that every-once-in-a-while, you have THAT day and you go low, but geeeeez, +13 is nuts.

Is there an app that might work? Excel script? Anyone ever try Squabbit? I think I saw where someone on this site uses it.

It’s been said the Midwest, BIG10, has a lot more money than the south.
It is starting to become apparent.
I do believe the tougher SEC schedules take a toll, but 3-7 in bowl games after tonight, but not good.
The same guys that think LSU goes undefeated every year are the same ones that will never admit the other money teams/conferences have caught up.
I don’t think it necessarily the players, I blame the greedy agents.
System is broken. Hopefully someone will step up and fix it.
Will “always” support my Tigers, but I have definitely cooled on the sport as a whole.

Still better than anything we have.
True freshman with HUGE upside.

Was fortunate enough to work with the Orlando Host Committee in ’94. They had a contest for a logo/mark for the Orlando tournament. I thought it was for the The US Soccer organization, but it was just Orlando. I won and had tickets to two matches. Five teams in town: Belgium, Rep of Ireland, Morocco, Netherlands, and Mexico. Saw the Mexico v Ireland match and the Belgium v Netherlands match.
All I remember is it was HOT AS HELL in late June. They ran out of water at every match.
No idea why they would schedule matches dead of summer in the South.

So 9:25 here.
Might make it to halftime.
