Last years team was the 1st LSU team to win the regular season title since 2009. The only time LSU has repeated as regular season champs was 1953 and 1954. This season, we have a decent chance to win outright back to back regular season titles for the first time ever.

Dare I say this team is better than last years? Last year, we relied a lot on Waters & Reid. But this year, the balance on the team is a YUGE advantage we haven’t had since our final four team in 2006.
We Have 6 guys that can get a double / double each time they lace ‘em up.... And often times, we have 2 players either getting a double / double or darned close to it.

Our losses this year, with the exception of ETSU, were games where we had commanding leads and collapsed down the stretch.

IMHO, the difference has been Smart, Taylor & Watford. They have really stepped up their game as of late and become more consistent. When Manning comes back, we will have a strong 8 man rotation.

I like this team more then last year but do we repeat as regular season champs and make a it further in the NCAA’s??? I like our chances.

Better? No, but basketball as a whole is down from last year so this team could win as many, or maybe even more games than last year's team. The SEC is definitely a couple notches down from last year.

I still think this team COULD go 15-3 or better in conference play though.

Everyone plays their role better this year IMO. Naz was still trying to find himself and Waters had a mind of his own. Smart has figured out how to play within himself and everyone knows how to play off of him.

I wouldn’t say better. I think this team plays to its identity really well. I think we will have a much better idea over the next few weeks when the schedule gets a bit more difficult.

This team is better. More defined roles and play more together.

The rest of college basketball is also much weaker.

That being said, there are times in the tournament where you'll need a guy to go get a bucket. Do we have that?

I’d say last years team had better basketball players and was more talented than this years team, but this years team just refuses to lose

Great point about the SEC being down a notch or so.... at least on the top of the conference. Tennessee was a force last year, AU and KY are strong and will be contenders to win the SEC.... Florida, Bama and Arkansas will also likely make the dance and can make a run.

The back end of our schedule is certainly more difficult than the front end. Some big games coming up..... at AU, KY at home and then @ Florida & Ark. .500 in those games gives us a good shot at repeating as regular season champs. Gonna be fun to watch.

We're 17-4

And we've sure tried hard to lose a few in blowing big leads down the stretch... That has improved a little over the past couple of games though.

They need to improve on defense dramatically. They are currently 126th in adjusted defensive efficiency. Since 2010, no team has received better than a 6 seed with that ranking. For reference, last years team was ranked 62nd. Getting Manning back will help since the only game where Marlon and Manning were both 100% we held Miss st to 59 points

17 and 4 with no bad quadrant losses and 3 of those were by 2 points and we were leading in the final minute. Strictly on paper I think we are better at this point this year. Last year had a little more talent, this season has a little more chemistry.

This team with KBW would be interesting! Naz was 1 and done mentality but KBW height and heart would still fit great w this years team.

IDK if this team is better than last year’s, but they have the same record through 21 games (17-4), for whatever that’s worth.

Smart is deadly on the pull up jumper, and both he and Mays can drive and get fouled.

I also like Watford in the post.

Better talent wise? No. Better grit, knowing their roles, and chemistry wise? Yes.

And I'd take Watford over Reid.

I think we have better ability to manufacture points when needed by getting to the free throw line. And we're good at the line. I've been really impressed with how much Watford has improved his free throw shooting.

Between Mays and Watford..yes. Trendon is just starting to turn it on the last few games, looking scary good. Nothing needs to be said for Skylar, he's proven.

Not ready to say Smart is a guy I trust with a last-minute clutch bucket.
