Supposedly took the same online courses as Jerrell Powe to qualify. Wonder if the new coaches at Southern Miss, who used to coach at Ole Miss, learned something about the process. Interesting.

ACT requirements at USM lower the higher your GPA is. Someone with a 2.0 has to make an 18, 2.5=17, 3.0=16, but thats as low as it goes. I think LSU requires an 18 ACT score, no matter what your GPA is. I could be wrong about that tho.

That's been my question for so long, and I haven't been able to get an answer yet. I understand the NCAA has minimal requirements to play ball, but do you also have to meet the individual requirements of the particular university or is it just one benchmark?

He took online classes at BYU like Powe. But Powe was denied eligibility after completion of the classes. Powe's classes were also after a year at Hargrave.

It is solely based on the requirements of the institution, as long as they abide by NCAA rules. Different schools have diff. req. So, it can be easier to qualify at one school vs. another.

Also the conferences have certain qualifications that student athletes have to meet, the reason Phil Loadholt is at OU and not LSU.

Do you get off on these stupid German comments? You never miss an opportunity to try to put someone down for sharing something. Give it a damn rest.

Someone answered it already but yes some institutions (Notre Dame, for example) have tougher admissions requirements. It hurt ND recruiting for awhile but not lately. Of course, they can't seem to do anything on the field yet.
