re: The Karr Cougars

Posted by 1958 on 12/2/12 at 5:46 pm to
HC had a chance to make that game close. I was there and that was the most pathetic attempt at sportsmanship I have ever witnessed by the band and the PA announcer. HC was not even supposed to compete, but they did. What game did you watch? First and goal twice for HC but didn't get it in, then Karr scored on a scramble luck pass to the back of the end zone. yes, they have great athletes, but your are wrong in saying that it wasn't a game.

Absolutely positively the loudest game I have I been to in my 50 years of attending. Not sure why, but something was there that nite. I was totally exhausted, couldn't talk for days. Great memories reading this thread.

I heard today that Smith is done. No more football. Good for him because he is going to be killed if he cant protect himself from a hit. Damn. He has had multiple concussions, go figure, so this did it. Still can't figure out why he didn't break down and defend himself.
G Morgan, I can't tell, are you a fan of USM or making fun? always a smily face when you have a comment

It has been a while, but I seem to remember spitting up my Gerber strained carrots and later pooping in my diaper.
making fun of the cajun names, especially Gaudet. They said if they had a chance to call a hockey game with European teams that they would pass and that LSU names were like that
Did they just say something about the names of the LSU players? The feed I am getting doesn't have commercials and the mikes are live. Not sure if I appreciate those comments. Anyone hear that?

Did you see the whole section come up on the last Wisconsin play? Can the field be not suitable for play? Wow, what a mess.

Just watched that crap. How on Earth can they discount LSU's return, and Scott's great run. Unbelievable they can say all of that with straight faces. Media today is pitiful.
I have a set of the scotch glasses with the same design. Only drank out of them twice. :-)
How many years has it been since OM won a championship in anything?? I'm 51 and don't remember one. :-)

Is there a stat out there for caught stealing/stolen base ratio? Wonder where we rate there?

Same team, different outcome

What an amazing turnaround from last year. Isn't it unreal how these players have taken on their coaches personality. These guys play tough, disciplined ball for 40 minutes. I wouldn't count them out in any game going forward.

SEC West in the years to come

Don't you think that the winner of the West has a great shot at playing in the BCS Championship game? It is going to be amazing the next few years. Can't wait for the drama. :-)

The two experts have to be reminded that LSU leads the SEC and then they say oh yea, LSU has a shot. What a bunch of crap, they have no clue.
white horse, brass rail, etc. in the 70's, yes they will understand one day! Much knowledge now.

We snuck in a fifth of Jack Daniels. Once the game started, forgot all about it. Walked out drained of emotion after the game. Couldn't talk for three days. Being college age at the time that was not normal for our group.

Most intense game with more emotion than any game I have been to over the years. Alabama this year is comparable, but back then the feeling inside that bowl was what we who have been to these type games know about. It is not easily described to others who have not experienced it. :-)

Belle Chasse quarterback had great numbers, team won 4A state title. How come he is not being recruited by the larger schools?

If Vern says "John Parker Wilson" one more time, I may kill myself. Not really. Maybe that could be some sort of drinking game.

re: Deandre brown

I was at the USM game. He lined up wide with a corner on him with no safety help. The safety had to help with the run defense. They were running the ball down ulala's throat, so they really didn't throw the ball alot. Brown made one good catch, ran the wrong route a couple of times, but looked to be one of the better athletes on the field. IMO he would be just another receiver at LSU with potential to start later.
Supposedly took the same online courses as Jerrell Powe to qualify. Wonder if the new coaches at Southern Miss, who used to coach at Ole Miss, learned something about the process. Interesting.
