so after reading what he had to say about it being down to us and A&M...is it fair to say that if A&M gets him its our depth chart, with the commit of Ford and murphy only being a Soph that scared him away? (and maybe, just maybe he wants to stay in TX but i doubt that holds much emphasis)

If he picks A&M, its likely because we wouldn't accept his commitment, as the coaches would still be on the Trent Richardson or bust train.

IMHO, that would be a foolish move on the coaches part. After several immpressive workouts and camps, Michael is quickly moving up in the RB rankings. But hey, the coaches understand this stuff better than me, so I guess it wouldn't be that follish of a move.

He is the best RB in Texas, period. Whaley and Pratt are good RBs, but Michael has a different gear than those two, and has the size too.

He has a good relationship with our staff, which helps, but frankly... right now LSU > A&M.

At least his high school coach is an Aggie.

I also think the coaches want Richardson more because it would be a better deal if hes not playing for Bama.

If you have 2 backs you like equally you go after the one that could possibly be playing against you for the next 4 or 5 years, you remove him from your opponents backfield.

I really wish we would accept his commit, but who knows hopefully he will hang around for us. But, who knows with the Trent R and Lacy status? SO i guess thats why the coaches are playing it by the ear.

also if they don't get TR they can afford not to take another RB if it comes to it. Having said that, I'd like to see them take CM anyways.

A lot of people + Scout disagree with you.

It's pretty funny that you speak so highly about the one that is considering A&M.

Not after the next evaluations they won't. CM is the best RB in Tx and I'm an LSU fan.

ummm... scout does agree with me... I said that Richardson was better IMO, but Michael IS the best RB in this recruiting class.

You can form your own opinion, but most of us on this side of the border agree on Michael.

I'm hoping you're just talking about in Texas.

there's a reason why Texas and A&M were recruiting Pratt as a LB and Michael as a RB.

Pratt is a good RB no doubt... but the argument of Pratt v. Michael in regards to who's the better RB is Michael 100%.

Not only is Michael faster, more compact and shiftier.... Michael plays in a MUCH TOUGHER DISTRICT, and competes against other D1 players. Navasota's district is weak as shite.

Pratt is a great athlete, but he was the #3-4 RB on Texas/A&M's list. He runs way too straight up, and he's not all that fast for a RB. He reminds me of Henry Melton in terms of a RB... he's better suited on the defensive side.

Pratt is pretty fast.

If you want to bring that up, then there's a reason LSU isn't recruiting Michael as hard as Richardson.
