Not a bad movie.
I would drink Marisa Tomei's bath water.
Next weekend, I will watch my first John candy movie.

I just watched it for the first time (start to finish, anyway) a couple weeks back.
It was way more fish-out-of-water than the legal setting I had expected. Maybe 10 minutes is actually in the courtroom and half that is Marisa Tomei on the stand
Very good flick.
As for John Candy, what are you starting with?
Spaceballs
Splash
The Great Outdoors
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
Uncle Buck
Canadian Bacon
Wagons East
Stripes
Cool Runnings

My cousin vinny is a top 5er for me and I watch planes, trains, and automobiles at least once a year and still laugh audibly

The Good Outdoors is a great movie

Dan Ackroyd as Roman is legitimately one of the greatest assholes in film history. You can tell he had so much fun with that role, every other line is laugh out loud funny.

Think of your children pledging allegiance to the maple leaf. Mayonnaise on everything. Winter 11 months of the year. Anne Murray - all day, every day.

The movie does about as good a job with the legal process as you can expect from Hollywood (still with a great deal of liberties taken).
Fred Gwyn is great as the Judge.
You are correct; Marisa Tomei is an absolute smoke show in it.
Really well cast movie, don't know how anyone wouldn't like it.
I've read they had planned on making more movies (or at least a sequel) based on Vinny's practice afterwards, with Tomei playing a private eye...interesting. But easily could have been awful.

Yeah, you blend.
Such a great flick.
Marisa Tomei in 1992 - smoke show
Marisa Tomei in 2016 as 'Aunt May' , still a smoke show.

The obvious choice is Great Outdoors. But Delirious is an overlooked good one.

Tomei deserves the Oscar.
That was brilliant

It’s probably one of the more accurate legal movies out there.
The quotes in that movie are spectacular.

Yep, actually shown in law schools as an example of court and trial procedure

Because the judge calls him out on decorum, dress and lack of Civil Procedure knowledge...unlike Hollywood movies where the defense attorney is allowed to testify and give a soliloquy during cross and then after being sustained just says withdrawn. In a showboat manner in front of the jury.
I mean it's theatrical, which is why Hollywood loves the attorney who seemingly has Carte Blanche in the courtroom, they help to tell the story.
But Vinny has to direct and cross in a fairly legal way and has to set foundation for the lovely Miss Vito to testify.

Anatomy of a Murder
A Civil Action would be up there.
