Anybody have one? Experience with one? I am thinking of getting the PM 100. BBQ pit with the offset smoke box.
Good quality? Warranty?

Never heard of them, and I live up here
From this area, lonestar grillz has a very good reputation for quality.

Goodwood Hardware carries them. They look like they are built well.

If those are the ones I'm thinking of at Goodwood, they seemed pretty overpriced from what I remember. Post some specs and the prices.

The one at Goodwood was around 900 sq inches cooking surface with a good sized smoke box. For $1500

Unless you had to have it that day, I wouldn't pay $1500 for that. You can get a much better built pit with more cooking area for another $300. I saw the words "heavy gauge" multiple times but never saw specifics. That griddle on top of the firebox is just another rust point.

I like Klaus pits from Houston.

Bought one a few months ago. Love it. Think it’s the PM 75u. They’re a couple hundred more at Goodwood than if you wanna make the drive. Fire box has a lifetime warranty. The upright box is really only for cold smoking. Might leave it off if I were to do it again. Cooked on my egg about 10 years before adding the Texas pit to the family. Custom cover will run you a couple hundred. It was between that and a Yoder. Yoder would have run about 1k more with shipping as there are no local dealers.

A Shirley 24x36 would be my pick if I were staying in the under $2k range. Stainless shelf is extra, but these only have a 6-8 week lead time.

I love the Shirley smokers. I'm thinking about getting on the waiting list for a smoker I can pull behind my vehicle.

Not going to start another thread, what is a good offset smoker that is less than a grand?
I am not trying to break the bank but would like to finally get one

If I was looking to spend that kind of money I'm just not sold on that one. You might be able to get more bang for your buck elsewhere. Like a previous poster said, they don't even list how thick the steel is. For a cheaper option you could go Old Country Pecos, or the Brazos if you want to go with 1/4" steel. You can also get them at Academy or Bucee's and avoid shipping costs. Allen's Welding has amazing prices for good quality if your willing to wait on lead time a little.

I had a modified trailer from them. It is nice, not nice enough for me to wait nearly 3 years for. Doesn't do anything better/different that's worth that wait to an impatient person like me. I'm getting a 250 on a trailer from Backline again and it will be ready in March/April. That's about as long as I can wait lol.

Those look like solid builds
Will need to go visit them.

I'd be curious to see one of those Allen pits in action. Normally you just done see anything less than 20" diameter because things just don't fit. 30x18" really doesn't allow for much convective cooking. Also it seems every one of his horizontal offsets have an exhaust stack that is placed pretty high. They may work well, but I'd have to see a few in action first.

Agree with you on that. I think the main one is 40”/20”. I wouldn’t want any smaller than that. I actually ordered a 40/20 reverse flow in 1/4” about two months ago. Lead time was 10 weeks so it should be getting close. I’ll post a review thread after a few cooks.

Thank you everybody for the input. I'm going to check out the one at Academy.
