Regardless of what your friends say who just read the stats, he looked pretty good in his limited playing time tonight. Two of his better runs got called back by holding calls. In one of the runs, he did a nice job or break free of a defensive lineman and cutting outside for a nice gain.

One of them was a hold after he got past the defender. The other was him vs. a DE trying to get to the outside, and I have my money on Reggie getting the corner on and DE in the league.

Also the entire night the O-Line looked like pure shite when run blocking, for all backs.

It sounds like the defensive line has been owning them in practice so far. I hope this is not a trend.
I tend to not get too concerned with pre-season at all, unlike the guys sitting next to us in the bar who were screaming at the top of their lungs and high fiving after a five yard carry in the third quarter of a pre-season game.

I say it after every game

Everytime I see reggie unable to do anything on the NFL field, I'm reminded how slow and weak the Pac 10 defenses are. He's just not going to make a great NFL player.

We need a running back in next years draft to backup Deuce

Couldn't agree more! The O-Line needs a push and move forward.

Bush gets so much shite for not being able to run between the tackles. I honestly don't think any back can with the lack of push the Saints line gives.

I really think it's a case of the offense is "too cute." Too many trick plays and passes. It make O-Lineman look lazy. We really need to move the D-Line off the ball, then see how Bush plays.

Yes, I thought he looked pretty good. I know one thing, the right side of our O-line doesn't look good so far and they didn't look good last year. Stinchcomb is pretty terrible and he cannot run block for shite.

Yeah, but I know the left side will be good. Brown/Evans are money in the bank. However, Stinchomb is basically pooh. He was blown up all year last year, and was manhandled many times.

the best reggie could have ever been coming out of college was Brian Westbrook (which is pretty damn good, but not the LT, best running back EVAR shite that was spewed regularly) but after two years it's clear he'll probably never get to that level.

we are a finesse team....how you people don't realize this by yr 3 is amazing......

look at our acquisitions....wrs, receiving tes, bush,

look at the guys we sign in the trenches....all under the radar overachievers....

also think that the linemen that payton needs to run his passing game have to be agile and smart, which tends to make them bad road grading run blockers

it doesn't matter how good reggie is unless we open up holes for him

Reggie did his thing in college not only against Pac-10 defenses, but also the ACC, SEC, Big-12, etc...

most of his hi-lite runs that you see everyday on espn were against weak pac 10 defenses.

rantness kicking in.... you can take LT in our backfield tonight and he wouldnt have done any better.... our run blocking has sucked for a while now... if you dont realize that then your an idiot... reggie will never be LT like, but if we can hold some blocks he'll do LOADS better.... one play he aggravated me on today is when we were down by the goal line and he went to the line of scrimmage and stopped.... other than that he did fine..... the holding calls had nothing to do with his runs.... didnt benefit him in the least bit...

Reggie made teams from just about every conference in the country look like a joke. Bashing Reggie's college career is a weak argument.

He needs some patience when he's running and not go for the home run every time like he could in college....some blocking would probably help too

True. Hard to judge based on last night.....not many holes for the backs to hit. I did think that Reggie looked to be pretty fast though. Still say they need to get him out in space......he could be deadly.

Reggie looked okay. The run blocking wasn't quite there.. And hell even with the 2 take away runs.. he still managed to bust his arse to the outside and pick up a key first down on a third down run..

Reggie Bush ran up the middle like a scared little kitten. He let Antrell Rolle hit him in the hole and pretty much got owned.

Deuce would have knocked Rolle into the next dimension.
