Thinking of just me and the wife going to key West for a couple days staying on Duval Street. Then spending a couple days on a boat in Key Largo. The owner of the boat will pick us up one day from boat in his bay boat take us fishing and island hopping. $600 2 night stay on boat and fishing/Island hopping trip. This is in February for Mardi Gras holiday. Any must do’s? Any other help would appreciate.

There's a bunch of Key West threads on here so try searching and you should get a bunch of good info.

The Ernest Hemingway house tour was more interesting than I expected.

Mel Fisher Maritime Museum was good.

Duval Street is pretty much just a clean Bourbon Street, we had fun just going to different bars and grabbing drinks.

Santiagos Bodega was the best meal we had.

Louies Backyard was just meh.

Assuming since you're going from Key West to Key Largo you'll have some sort of transportation. If so go look for the Key Deer(basically white tail the size of a dog) on Big Pine Key. Go down Key Deer Blvd and look for them, go all the way to the end if you have to, we found several in the neighborhood at the end of Key Deer Blvd.

While in route to Key Largo stop at Robbie's in Islamorada and hand feed the tarpon. Probably the coolest thing we did while there.

Lagerheads, very small beach but they got good drink prices, good scenery, nice chill place.

Sounds like a good time. How’d you find this boat captain?

Ok, here you go. Just got back from Key West this week. Stayed at the Orchid Key. Very clean, great staff, small rooms and is centrally located on Duval.
Duval offers many bars and shopping. Can’t really recommend one over the other because they all were fun.
Food. First night ate at Mangoe’s. Nice place to get drinks and listen to music but the food was subpar. I am not a picky eater.
Do Lunch at Latitudes. Lunch not dinner. Free ferry ride to the island to get there. Appetizers and food was fantastic and the scenery was great.
We did a 2 hour kayak trip on Saturday morning. Enjoyed it a lot. Did not do sunset cruise but heard good things about it. Enjoy
