The course looked in decent shape. 75% of the greens were pretty good. The issues that some had, some kind of small circular weed and sand patches on the outer perimeter. They are putting in a large wooden deck on the back of the club house, which should be nice when done. Plus no mask mandate was a nice touch.

The Quail Hollow in Charlotte?

No in Mississippi. It's part of the Percy Quinn campgrounds.

Been wondering about this place. I grew up in McComb and played here a lot. In fact, it was the first job I ever got. But haven’t been back in about 10 years. Course has a great layout
Going to have to make a trip up there and play again.

Such a great piece of property. Only played once and it was wet and they had recently plugged the greens, but the shot values are really enjoyable. Hope they get it in good shape!

Great to hear. I've only played it once but it's been over a decade now. Our golf league added it as one of our monthly tournaments this year, so looking forward to going back in August

The sand traps are in terrible shape. They are not kept up, but my philosophy is if the greens need work, then all funds should be used to correct them before sandtraps. Yesterday, my buddy landed in one and I told him to just put is ball outside the trap where he had to shoot over it.
The golf carts seem to be in good shape. Fast gas cart with good breaks.

Always had problems with greens. They were in decent shape around 2014, but they have been back to terrible shape for the last few years. They never have been able to fix them properly. They used to have microdochium patch and leaf spot problems. From your description is sounds like they still have microdochium problems.
Great layout, though.

I do like the layout, and it is very inexpensive. $40 feels like a steal, considering Dumas wants $30

This is one of our favorite courses to play. I live 10 minutes from Carter but I would rather drive to QH than wait every hole at Carter.

Small circular weed is most likely Poa Annua, everyone is struggling this year with it down south.

It reminds me of a small flat crab grass.

This is 100% true. We had a 7:45 out there Saturday morning but managed to finish at noon. Fastest round I've ever played out there.
But in front of us was two kids in their late teens, and I assume one of their dad/grandpa playing the senior tees. They played the tips. On multiple occasions we saw them tossing the ball up and attempting to hit it like a baseball on their approach shots
