Anyone recommend a good play here? I'm going for a vacation and the resort has its own course(Kissing Camels) However I know there are also a few other premier courses in the area. However they require permission or staying on property.(Broadmoor, Castle Pines) Any suggestions?

I would contact Kissing Camels and find out if they have any reciprocal agreements with private clubs in the area. If possible you might try and play Eisenhower Golf Course at the Air Force Academy. I was a member there for 40 years before I had to quit playing because of lower back problems. Probably the best military course in the US. Many years ago it was rated in Golf Digest's Top 100 courses.

It's been many years since I played KK. Back when I did play it was a private club with some wealthy members & was in very good condition.

Air Force academy courses are nice. I’m not sure if they are public though

They aren't. You would have to play with someone with a military ID.

Are both courses being renovated?

I was completely wrong, i googled Eisenhower golf course and apparently was looking at a course in Annapolis. Looks like both of the AFA courses are open. However not being military i don't know my chances of getting on. I do have a good friend that graduated from the academy but i don’t know if former cadets can vouch for a civilian while not currently living in the area.

The two courses are the Blue & the Silver, the colors of Air Force athletic teams. I doubt that they would both be renovated at the same time. I haven't been to the club since I was forced to quit playing because of lower back issues.

As I wrote previously, in order to play the AFA courses you would have to be accompanied by someone with a military ID.

Damn. Love playing in the springs. Thin air means longer drives and less slice/hook. And I need all the help I can get.
