I have reservations the first week in April for Vail. When I booked it Beaver Creek was closing on 4/4 so i didn't consider it. BC has extended their season to 4/11 so it will work now.
Prices for similar lodging is very close. I realize Vail is larger with more dining/shopping options.
How does the skiing compare? I am a blue/green skier. My kids are blue/blacks.
I've heard some people say blues are Vail are blacks at some other places. I've seen other people say that isn't so.

BC is going to be a much more relaxing skiing experience. There’s some great green/blue runs you can hit over and over again.
I personally prefer BC.
However, for dining/shopping/bar options Vail is way better.

Unless your friends are assholes and send you down the Birds of Prey run to start the day the first time you ever try skiing.

I would echo this. You really can't go wrong at either, tho. You could also just do both as they are 20 min from one another.

We actually were planning to go to Vail last year at Mardi Gras and I switched to BC at the last minute because of a hotel change. So glad we did. I dont think there really is any cheap public parking near the BC base, a shuttle is required to get to the lifts from the cheap parking areas. So it seemed to me that kept out the undesirables and it made the skiing experience that much nicer.
