I know this has been done before but the search feature is horrible here.

We want to do an all inclusive this summer and I have looked at quite a few online but their websites seems purposely vague. I would feel more comfortable going somewhere that someone can vouch for.

I have friends that went to Sandal’s South Coast but it is much more expensive than what I found looking at some Excellence properties. That is despite Excellence getting some great reviews. Not sure what the huge difference is, name recognition maybe?

We just would love a nice room, possibly with a private pool but not a must. Top shelf liquor and a nice option of places to eat. Oh, and couples only/no children.

Can anyone tell me where they have been and would recommend? Can you go somewhere nice in the summer for around $3000 for the room for 2? We are looking for 5 nights.

We like Excellence Playa Mujeres and Riviera Maya. At Playa, it's a short trip to Isla, which is a must.

I've never been, but from what I've read the only Sandals that is worth it is St Lucia

Your budget will get you bare bones minimums at Sandals. If you can increase your budget another 2k I recommend Sandals in Grenada, St Lucia or Antigua. Been to all 3 properties and they are really incredible.

Also the entire world is about to travel pretty heavy and a lot of the cheaper rooms are already booked for the summer time.

Try Groupon.

Excellence properties are great. No kids allowed. Been to both in Mexico and would recommend either. The food and restaurants are very good, which is not always the case at all-inclusives. Service throughout the resort is first class.

Im currently leaving the Excellence El Carmen in the Dominican Republic.

I would go back every year if it is up to me. Had the best time of my life. Did splurge on a couple things that aren’t included in the “all inclusive” but it was all worth it.

The resort is nowhere near capacity which was extremely nice. I could’ve stayed for another week without getting tired of it.

ETA: this was my first all inclusive experience so take it with a grain of salt.

If you bumped your budget a little more this place is 100% worth it.

You can also look at the Secrets group in and around Cancun. I been to the one in Meroma and would go back in a heartbeat.

Biggest difference in excellence and sandals that I can tell is scuba diving. You can do a 2 tank dive everyday at any sandals resorts while diving isn’t included at excellence. I think excellence may have had a fee for airport shuttle too.

If you’re not a diver then I think excellence makes more sense.
