Will your company require vaccination?

Everyone at my company seems to be in the vaccine boat. So much so, that people were talking about how they were scamming their way into getting it by claiming to be a caregiver, etc... back before it was widely available.
The company sent out a memo that there is PTO available to use for getting your shots. There is even a meeting with HR later to discuss this. I guess if people have already taken PTO, they will cover how to get this cleaned up?
In every meeting now, people excitedly talk about getting their shot and when their 2nd is scheduled, and then they ask me... and I'm like...uh... I'm not getting it. *Crickets*
We currently have no directive on when or if we return to the office. If we visit the office, we have to submit forms, get them approved, sign in and out, and we are supposed to wear a mask (even if alone), and carry hand sanitizer, and use tissues to open doors... I am not kidding. I am starting to believe they will require the vaccine, and I will have to figure out if this is something I will really want to fight.
I changed jobs during COVID from a place that never really shut down to a place that was in full lockdown. I guess I should have expected this.
Is your company going to require the shot? What are you going to do if you don't want to get it?

I do contract work at a long term care facility. There are regular employees and other contract employees (therapists). I am the only one being required to take it.
Nurses aren’t. Therapists aren’t. Housekeepers are t. Just me. And I’m seriously likely the healthiest one there. I never qualified until they opened it up to everyone.
So I have no idea what the hell their policy is other than “make her but no one else”. My boss that has the contract is working on it. And I’m still doing telemed.

I would be curious if these employer mandated vaccine cases make it to the courts. Is there any legal precedence for it?

Unless they classify it as a BFOQ for every position or employment law is revised, I don’t see how requiring vaccination is legal.
Of course, it’s not a stretch to imagine either of those scenarios.

Since I own my own company, I hope not. That would suck to get banned from work.

There are Religious and Medical exemptions. Those are also a trap for HR.
Any questioning regarding an employees Religion can be construed as a discriminatory action.
All employees Health questions can be construed as a violation of employees right to privacy and discrimination based on health under Americans With Disabilities Act.
Simply state you have a Religious or Medical issue with vaccination. You become untouchable.
ETA: Literally tell employer you have a Religious or Medical exemption. When they ask which respond with: "Which employment discrimination path do you want to proceed down?" Then smile.

Yah I’m worried that the two drivers at our facility are incredibly pro-vaccine and that I’ll have to make a choice.
As chance would have it I’m going to my old school doctor tomorrow and I’ll ask him - I have hemochromatosis so that’s potentially my liferaft / medical ticket

My work sent out an email at the beginning of the month telling us we are required to get vaccinated by the end of this month. This is for a somewhat small manufacturing and warehousing facility.

A company cannot mandate a vaccine.

Private companies can require their employers to get vaccinated. I don’t agree with it at all but legally, private companies can do that if they wish.

No, and if they were to attempt that, I’d say no based on religious grounds.

A privately owned company can.

Maybe you'll at least give yourself a nice severance package?

Even in an employment by will state? Or is this an exemption like can't discriminate against a federally protected class? Just curious since employer mandates like this are frightening especially in light of the Democrat controlled country and what has already been put in place by the illegitimate administration. It has just begun I'm afraid.

Fortunately, I divested of my interests and no longer create jobs for people that think they are entitled to them OR deserve $15 per hour...
I still sit the board for two non-profits... there has been discussion of the requirement for a vaccine... One, there is a 99% chance that there will be no "requirement"... the other, given the nature of the work it does, it may have to be strongly encouraged in order to still gain the access necessary to do the work...
Even then, the board doesn't really have the stomach for a requirement but it could make for a tough situation based on the decisions of others....

am a housewife and The Husband has not mandated it.
I may have voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 but I disagree with him about the vax. Let other people be guinea pigs if they want; I'll hold out as long as I can then assess the safety and effectiveness thereof.
Know-it-all family members who support abortion take Umbridge when I say "my body my choice." My family is all for vax passports, too. What can you say, they swallow NPR bullshyte like they do their soy lattes.

It is not legal to mandate a vaccine that has been developed on an EMERGENCY BASIS. Don't let them force you.
It will probably take another 2 years for full FDA approval.
If they fire you when they are not requiring other employees to submit, sue the shite out of them.
If corps begin down this road, lawyers will make a fortune.

I'll tell them my grandpaw was a Tuskegee Airman, so pardon me if I don't want some random vaccine? Too far?
Now, he was white, and in the Navy, but he did fly in planes during the War, and he did live in Tuskegee briefly.

As if it takes a long time or something
You could just schedule it before or after lunch and take an extended lunch break

Is this only in right to work states?
