When they get a call and arrive to find a person of color displaying abnormal behavior, the answer to the dispatcher and everybody in the neighborhood is “good luck with that”, followed by getting in the squad car and driving away.

There shouldn’t be police available to send to the scene.

Maybe just don’t kneel on them till they die?

Just a thought.

There shouldn't BE police in Minneapolis.

Go be a plumber or an electrician or something that won't send you to prison for doing your job. Those jobs pay more these days anyway.

The man ODed. If there’s a chance you’ll throw me in the clink for years for apprehending a person as he’s ODing, again my answer is “good luck with handling that on your own”. I’m not laying a hand on him. Maybe you can find a person filming the incident on their phone to help you apprehend him.

True guess we need to just let the crackheads run free since they may happen to OD in custody

So he needed to kneel on him for 9 minutes while he ODed?

I dont Think Good Cops should be afraid of this because this isn’t what good cops do.

Maybe if he’d stopped resisting arrest during that 9 minutes he’d have died sitting in the back seat of a squad car. Regardless, next time, good luck handling it on your own is the answer.

The toxicology report doesn't lie. A jury can be swayed by personal bias and threats from Congress members but that report just tells the facts.

A good cop shot someone fleeing a crime scene with a gun and people wanted him arrested. A good cop shot a rapist with a knife and people wanted him arrested. What should good cops be afraid of?

So he was both literally dying from an overdose of a tranquilizer and resisting arrest for the full 9 minutes? Including the minute and a half he lost consciousness?

What do you mean regardless? Cops can do their job without excessive force.

Guess so if there is literally no middle ground between then running free and a cop literally kneeling on them while they die.

Did either get arrested?

Did either get fired?
