Coore Crenshaw Building Golf Course at Lake Martin in AL

I know this board is mostly Louisiana focused, but pretty cool too see Coore Crenshaw expanding their portfolio into Alabama. They have yet to really build in the Deep South yet (closest are Florida and North Carolina at the moment). They are teaming up with Russell Lands to build a lakeside golf course at Lake Martin in Alexander City nearby to another great course in Willow Point.
The course is expected to be private, but still helps add to Alabama's underated list of really strong golf courses. Between the RTJ facilities in Auburn and Montgomery, Pursell Farms in Sylacauga, and now two excellent courses on the lake, Lake Martin is going to be a really good golf destination. Excited to see what the finished product will look like in a few years.

If you’ve ever been to Bandon Dunes then you know this course in Lake Martin will be fantastic.

Have not played Sheep Ranch or Bandon Trails, but love what they did with the Pinehurst No. 2 renovation. Basically any course they put their name on ends up in or around the top 100 in the country, so I excited about the prospects of this course given it will be quite close to us on the lake.

If a person loves golf they would kill themselves if they had to move from Alabama to Louisiana. Constantly having to listen to people discuss how primo BREC is and how LSU should absolutely keep open its golf course open because it used to be so amazing and has so much potential

Who in the world are you talking to that says these things?

They designed a course on Lake Oconee called the Golf Club at Cuscowilla. It is a phenomenal layout.

Played my first RTJ course last weekend. Supposedly the worst one (Dothan) and it was immaculate. Shot a 104 with about 5 missed 3 foot putts
I play on the gulf coast so wasn’t used to undulations at all. I was severely punished for not holding greens on that course because nearly all of them were at a steep elevation
